So you have had 9 that didn't pan out. Would you mind giving a rough indication of how many did pan out just so that I can do the math of how many I would need to respond to an advert to realistically convert into long term reps and therefore cover the cost of advertising. Thanks again.

it's hard to say the figures that don't work out as everyone has different luck. I have 9 in my team but one is my oh and another is my mil. Last year I had another rep go to debt, and 2 signed up but never placed orders and another placed one order paid then left. Had another 5 leads cancel at the last minute and never joined. So I've had probably a 50 50 success rate. I too don't pay much for advertising I do leaflet drops, expired brochure drops and advertise in free places. Otherwise you'll be paying more out than youll be making.

  • Well have dipped my toe in the water - just signed three up today + OH. The 4th one was a 'no show' (apparently was too tired to come - re-arranged to sign them up tomorrow). My SL was due to sign another up next week but actually closer to me than her so she's passed that lead on to me. Need to gen up before signing up a stranger so guess my no-show today, who's a customer of mine, will be good practice. Everything happens for a reason.... :T

Pretty sure you can return them just like all your other items; would be really surprised if not.

I received my very first Avon order yesterday! Everything was there, plus they gave me double the amount of hand creams I ordered (I think it was because they've sent the Xmas packaged ones).

Anyway, I ordered quite a few £1 and 75p online offers/HT clearance (lipsticks, lip glosses and eyeshadows), as I'm running a loyalty/invcentive scheme, and bought them to give away as 'free gifts'. Well, I also bought one of each for myself. I opened 'mine' last night, and I was bitterly disappointed, especially with the clear lip gloss that had a huge air bubble in it which made it impossible for the gloss to adhere to the wand. As I don't want to give my customers crap, I want to send them back.

Have to say that I'm not very impressed with Avon make-up thus far. My mum ordered an Anew concealer in the lightest colour - and it's very dark orangey pink!!

What would you say is a comparable high street brand make-up? Is Avon on par with Maybeline/Boots No.7 in terms of quality, or is it more like Boots 17? I know they compare their products to Boots No.7 in the brochures for price, but are they as good? (I've not used Avon make-up products other than nail enamels and mascaras before).

I have customers that regularly buy Avon make up, the Anew products and other products and haven't had any complaints apart from one didn't like the colour of the nail varnishes and would never buy them again.

So think it is a case of what make up you buy and what suits your needs.

A lot of my customers have been buying the Magix concealer - and repeatedly, so must be a good buy.

I used the Anew foundation because Ivory is the palest Avon shade I've found for my pasty skin :rotfl::rotfl: I used to use Boots 17 and this is a far better quality and coverage than that, but I have never used Boots No 7 to compare.

I have at least 6 customers who swear by the Avon creme to powder foundation and stock up when it's on offer at half price :D xx

Thanks for sharing, melvis! :T The creme to powder foundation is another product I shall add to my list of recommendations. And it's great to know that Ivory is Avon's palest shade - it's really difficult to make that judgement on the catalogue picture alone.

it depends on the avon product. ie colour trend is the avon version of boots no 17, anew makeup= clarins, clinique, avon makeup = no7, maybelline, solutions = garnier....

if you log on to your avon account, training, there is info about products and it tells you all about which products are compared to highstreet names etc
