Not sure if anyone can help me?

I am thinking of doing a facebook page for my Avon.

    Any tips?

Where can I get branded pictures?
    What cant I do?
Is there anyway that we have a personal Avon page that I can link people to?

    Please help :o

    THANKS

Pretty sure there are restrictions re. this - has been mentioned in one of the Avon threads on here before so maybe you can find more info by doing a search on each thread? Maybe search for 'web' or 'website' - should make it quicker?

It's not now! Used it for the first time last night and wasn't impressed. Not only was it difficult to zip/unzip because it's so floppy, but the lining jammed in the zip at first use. Needless to say, it's going back :p

Just want to say I totaly agree regarding the wallet. I will be sending mine back too.
I ordered the whole set and I have to say the pens are really nice and the organiser will come in really handy!! I quite like the calculater too. It is only the wallet that is a bit of a dissapointment for me.

haha, those who want to know pitfalls of being a SL..here is one.

I finally got my ASM to agree to give territory to one of my reps, been asking since Xmas, and she emailed me this morning to say she is moving next week! LOL. Luckily she is moving to an area where I can visit her so she will stay as my rep, but now need to find territory there for her.

    Hi,
I have signed up as a rep on onto my second campaign and was keen to sign up as a sales leader at the start but my SA told me to do a couple of campaigns to see what I think. Anyway I think I would still like to be a SA and wondered what happens when you sign up as a SA? Do we get training manuals etc?

    Thanks

    Hi

I am a sales leader and I agree with MarsdenCuckoo. I also think you need to be able to understand how AVON works and how to deal with the various "hiccups" we get along the way before you can help your team members. It is also handy if you already know of some people that would like to join your team, so that you could qualify for your Fast Start bonus.

as far as what happens when you decide to become a sales leader goes, you need to tell your sales leader (or area manager depending on who signed you up) you would like to become a sales leader now and she will contact AVON and get you loaded as a TRAINEE Sales Leader. You will then order the Sales Leader Business Pack. It is a Sales Leader bag with various bits in and also a form that you must fill in to become a Sales Leader. When I started as a Sales Leader last year I received the actual Manual, but I signed up my hubby as a Sales Leader later on in the year and he did not get one, since it is available on the avon website now when you become a sales leader. There is a cost involved when becoming a Sales Leader and it is £25.

If you feel ready to give it a go just have a word with your Sales Leader / Area Manager and they will go through all the details with you.

Hope this helps and I it makes sense, i do tend to waffle on sometimes.

I am just starting out on my 1st campaign as a rep but doing it with being an SL in mind. Thinking about what would have been useful to have been told at the initial meeting before signing up, eg how to fill in the calling book, good places to get bags, etc So will be interested in the replies you get to your query.

In the meantime I am considering various options for advertising for reps and trying to weigh up the costs v. benefits. So my questions for experienced SLs:
    - What are the costs of signing up new reps? I know you provide the brochures (you are only committed to providing their first 2 lots of 20 but you might choose to provide more if you wish). Are there any other costs involved?
    - In your experience what proportion of reps sign up but then never really get going and are effectively money down the toilet.
    - Also what would you say the average sales order value for new reps is over the 1st 6 or so campaigns - I appreciate this depends on time of year, whether they are F&F or territory, etc but a realistic figure to try and project how long before I start to see a return on my investment would be really useful.

Really appreciate any help on this. Thanks in advance.

    Hi

When I go to see people initially and they decide to become a representative I always give them a list consisting of the following:
Their area code / Mailplan number
    My contact details
The order and delivery dates for the next 3 campaigns
The address and dates for the Call-in Meetings.
    The prices of the brochures
The details of where we get our brochure bags from.

I know you can fill some of this information in on the actual booklet you go through when you explain to them how AVON works, but this sheet of paper has everything on and they can slot it into a clear plastic sleave and keep in their AVON folder with all their paperwork and invoices if they wish.

What are the costs of signing up new reps? we give new reps 40 brochures in there 1st and 40 in there 2nd campaign (we only get refunded for 40 brochures in total and an appointment pack fromm AVON, but we prefer to give them 40 just to help them out). The only problem is as mentioned before, if reps do not place an on time MOV order (£78), we do not get refunded the cost. Also if somebody gets refused by AVON then we will also not get refunded, which means we've lost our money and brochures.

We also give our new reps 40 re-sealable brochure bags in there 1st and 2nd campaign to get them started.
We also give them examples of the slips we use to put out with our brochures etc...
We also give them an example of the AVON paper delivery bags, the AVON brochure bag and also an extra calling book.

In your experience what proportion of reps sign up but then never really get going and are effectively money down the toilet.
I started being a Sales Leader last year and so far I've had 3 that decided it is not for them and did not place any orders and 3 that got refused by AVON and I've had 3 that only lasted a few campaigns.

Also what would you say the average sales order value for new reps is over the 1st 6 or so campaigns - I appreciate this depends on time of year, whether they are F&F or territory, etc but a realistic figure to try and project how long before I start to see a return on my investment would be really useful.
I can't answer this one, since like you said it does depends on various things. I've got one lady that does friends and family and her orders are more than even my hubby and my orders combined and we've got territory!!!

Have a word with your Sales Leader or Area Manager who signed you up. I remember my Sales Leader showed me her sales Leader statement and that juts gives you such a boost, since you want to get where she is as well.

Being a Sales Leader is hard work and it is definitely not quick money, but I do love it and it has given my confidence such a boost. I am very fortunate that I have a fantastic hubby that believes in it as much as I do.

    Hope this helps
    Sorry for the long post.

  • well i signed up my 6th rep this afternoon. so 6 since jan 21st isnt bad eh?

saying that ive had one rep who refuses to answer my calls/texts, doesnt answer the door when i go round to train her and then texts me asking when im dropping her books round! cheeky thing! then texts asking how to order...etc. grr if you had just answered the door or replied when i contacted you i could have explained this and shown you in about half hour! anyway she managed to place an order on time so cant complain.

2nd rep is having territory issues, in the sense that she was given 50 houses by the area manager of her estate but they were all screwed over by their last rep so half of them are completly put off and the others wont answer the door. Had to get more territory for her but shes feeling a bit de-motivated really.

3rd and 4th doing really well. 5th is my other half lol and the 6th is a lady i found at a bus stop this morning on the way back from prospecting and she said yes straight away lol.

whoop whoop. Very lucky how things have panned out. lets just hope that i can do a good job helping them and boosting their sales.

    hello all,

what a great forum for getting advice and tips.
im fairly new to avon ive just done my 5th campaign.

but what happens to costs for items i brought for myself ? i know this is probably a daft question but cant for the life of my work it out lol.

hope someone can help many thanks

Haven't actually gone down the tax route yet because there's no way (even with Betterware) that I'll earn anything near my personal tax allowance this year..... However, am guessing that any items you buy for yourself from Avon will not count as business expenses (unless maybe you can claim they're 'testers'....) Presumably, you can claim the cost of bags, books, etc. plus any ancillary stationery items and maybe petrol, etc. but any Avon goodies for yourself you need to take out of the equation and just work on the 'commission' figure provided by Avon (except for the blip in C3 re. the new lippy).

Thanks for all the responses and advice.

I agree about being a rep for a while so that you can learn about the 'hiccups' and how to resolve them. What I am trying to do at the mo is capture, whilst it is still fresh, what things need to be done, in what order, etc so that I can pass on my learnings to my recruits. I think if I leave it until I become an SL I may take forgranted some of the things I have learnt along the way.

However when I spot an opportunity for potentially recruiting reps my brain won't shut up and move on until I have looked into and evaluated it. Otherwise it goes round in circles wondering what if...
