Hi, I went to collect my some of my books and some people had 2, they said another girl had posted today, I was hoping not to have this problem but it does look quite common from reading the posts here,

I managed to get 2 orders from 25 houses which was a little bit frustrating as it was freezing but nobody said this was going to be easy lol

I have posted the last of my books for C4 and have given some out at work so fingers crossed. :D

I only signed on as an Avon Rep 3 weeks ago, and I've already had major problems with road allocations. Hopefully my ASM has sorted it now, but I think it is a very common problem.

I ended up canvassing 126 homes and only got 12 orders! I reckon that the order percentage is around 10% (someone correct me if I'm wrong??), so 2 from 25 is probably considered okay. I only hit MOV with my road allocation orders, but managed to go way above the HOV with orders from family, friends and work colleagues.

I think the best thing to do (from all the advice I've been given and read) is to try to build up a good relationship with your customers.

For example, I've got some fragrance and lipstick samples, and I'm going to give everyone who ordered a free sample as a thank you.

Plus I'm going to knock up a quick "thank you for your order" business card, and on the reverse do my own loyalty scheme. Haven't quite figured out the exact details yet, but it will be something along the lines of spend £15+ on 4 different orders and receive a free gift for those spending just over £10. Or spend £10+ on 4 different orders for those who spend just under £10. For my free gifts, I'll order a few of the 75p and £1 offers from clearance/online offers, making sure they were at least £5 when they were full price.

I'm also going to pop in some fragrance 'cards' with the Bond Girl fragrance (as there's no scratch and sniff in C5) to hopefully entice people to buy.

In fact, I've got a LOT to do!!! Hee hee, so I better get on with it!

:j Good to know I'm not the only one who gets excited, hee, hee!

Nope you're definitely not on your own. Its like Christmas every 3 weeks! I'm still excited when I'm delivering, feel like Santa! (Then I ask for their money ... LOL!)

This might seem obvious to many, but when your online invoice says x packages, this doesn't mean x boxes. Each package of brochures counts as a "package" and also some things like bags come separately and not in a box so they also count as a "package".

This is to save you going running down the street after the delivery man asking where the 5th box is and then having him very patiently explaining it to you.

Like I did last time. Ahem.

Delivering tonight, and collecting a load of brochures. Not been outside yet since this morning but everyone who does keeps coming back in and announcing how freezing cold it is outside. Gee, can't wait!!

Sorry, I have read back a few pages, I am not asking people to re-post, just asking if there is anything I should look out for thats all! Being a newbie, am I not entitled to ask these sort of questions? I thought these posts were for people asking questions ect? Sorry if I have posted in the wrong section!!!

You're not posting in the wrong section babyfreckles. It's just hard to quantify what you should look out for.

One thing I can tell you, is don't expect every delivery to be perfect. At one time or another we have all had deliveries with items missing, broken, leaking or extra items we didn't order.

    Hiya girls,
Signing in as an Avon newbie! I have just signed up for doing Avon in my area (Mainly because my rep is pregnant and will be leaving work soon, so wont get any books for a while!). Just wondered, can you make a loss with Avon? And is there anything I should be awrae of? Not sure if I am going to put brochures through doors, we havent had any here where I live (New build development).
Have read the tips on the first page, but cant scroll back through all the pages!!
Any advice will be greatly recieved!

Yes you can end up making a loss with avon - but mostly only happens if you order lots of stuff for yourself lol.

The main thing I tell all my new reps -

use your calling book so you know who doesn't give the brochure back, and where you have delivered to.

deliver brochures in re-sealable bags, means people can leave them outside no matter what the weather

make it obvious what day you are returning to collect the brochure (put the order form on the outside of the brochure) then it is easier for people to leave it outside, even if they aren't interested so you won't loose too many books. If not, a lot of people may well just put them in the bin as they don't want to hunt for what day you are coming back.

  • Just collected my brochures.. have made £71.04 in orders.. am gonna have to re-visit some places tomorrow though because I haven't had 4 books back and one lady hasn't take an offer up so will point out to her and see if she's interested :)
Have only done my street - which has only 13 houses on it, but only had a few days to get books out and to collect so next campaign will be doing the other streets i'm assigned.
Just wondered if anyone has any tips on how to get a few extra quids worth of orders? Could take it into work possibly...?

Yep definately try work - and ask various people - the cleaners at my work order from me, apparently there is a lady who works in the canteen (I take a packed lunch lol) who does avon, but she's never offered them a book. One of the ladies I work with asked me a book this time & placed a £13 order - I've been doing avon for a year lol, and she'd ask - o I like your bag, wheres that from (avon!), I like that necklace, wheres that from (avon!) lol so I think she eventually gave in.

If you have friends/family near - ask if they'd show a brochure to their work colleagues/friends etc, my Mum gets an order from her boss every campaign for me, and my sisters neighbours occaisionally order to.

If need be - you can always return stuff at a later date. I'd suggest getting some of the 99p bits if you do need to boost your order, as they are usually pretty popular so you may well sell them next campaign and you'd have them in stock ready.

  • Yeah thats quite a good idea :)

Not to sound like a total idiot.. but do things like paper bags (from HT) and samples and stuff, do they go towards MOV?

Next campaign i'm going to cover as much as my territory as possible.. obviously i only started up last wednesday so haven't had much time to get it all done :) just hope i do alot better lol
    xx
