Yes everyone I think is being sent some samples for the new eye cream - they did it last year too when the repackaged skin so soft range was launched. OH & MIL received samples, the number you receive will depend upon the number of customers you enter on the website.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

Hi Lozza
Yes I have ordered samples of Spotlight to put out with the book in which it is launched - just going to give the samples to my order-ers.
Spraying the card with a demo bottle is a brilliant idea - let us know how you get on - I looked into buying some of those perfume sample strips which you get in shops, but not much luck really finding any. What card did you use?
I have recently offered 2 free perfume samples with every order over £10, got a few takers so hopefully might get some orders from that.
Cheers,
To be honest I have no idea about the card lol - OH bought a huge pack to make loyalty cards up for his mum (shes a rep in my team) and theres loads left. It is pretty porous so should hopefully hold the scent long enough, especially if I give it a good soak to start with! Its only A4 card, so just going to print out the name of the fragrance onto the card and cut it up myself. Going to try it with the new Bali Beat fragrance thats going to be launched in C7, I buy the body mist from the HT then its only about £1.40 which is a bargain to be able to make enough samples for all our customers (70 for me & oh, and about 20 for MIL).
Have given out all my soft musk samples this campaign with it only being £3.25, stuck them onto small bits of card with the name typed on, made them much more noticeable and professional looking. Will see if I get any orders for it the end of next week! Next camp going to get rid of all my bond girl & christian lacroix samples, no point me hanging on to too many samples as otherwise everything will be discontinued!
Speaking of which - the 24k gold lipsticks are discontinued soon - so I'd check through you samples and get rid of them quick!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
Thanks for the heads up, lozza. Got to admit as already mentioned that it T's me off when we reps are flogged a load of samples only for them to then be discontinued shortly afterwards.....
As to offering a perfume sample as a 'carrot' to attain a certain order level..... Hmm.... not sure how effective that will be. Quite often my customers (who are given them free as a little 'thank you' for their order) leave them in the bag. I even stapled them to the 'thank you' note this time to make sure they were more obvious (rather than just popping them in the bottom of the bag) and I was still handed a bag back - with the note and fragrance sample still attached!
Am still a relative newbie but am firmly coming to the opinion that building up a 'relationship' with your customers is your biggest asset. Twice recently my customers have trusted me to choose their products for them - not big bucks but still...... Think it has come about by my tweeking their orders for them to ensure they get a bargain so they now just tell me approximately what they want and leave the rest to me.

I know - had a few orders to deliver tonight (most were taken last night, these people had rearranged) and had a good chat with some of them, and had a good laugh with one lady - turns out she was in last night, but she didn't realise her doorbell was broken so she hadn't heard me lol, had a good laugh about it shes really nice.
I use samples to try to get people to spend more - though it is a "Goodie bag" of samples, with a tick sheet for them to indicate their skin type/lipstick colour etc so they are of use. Worked last year the 2 times I did it, not everyone spent the right amount (did at £15 or more, mostly as quite a few customer spend that amount anyway, and can't afford to give loads of samples to people who will never spend over £2).
If you do end up with discontinued samples - what I did at the end of last year when writing christmas cards for my customers (only cheap ones from the pound shop lol) I gave everyone a sample, and people who very rarely order got given a discontinued sample. Means they got a bit of something to remind them that me & oh are their reps, and at least they got put to some kind of use!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
Think the problem with the fragrance samples is that half the time you can't see what it is i.e. the typeface is so tiny and the vials tend to turn round so the name is hidden anyway!
New reps have no idea which are the new/current/old fragrances so - could be wrong but..... I do suspect that Avon offload the outgoing samples onto newbies, which of course are not a lot of use other than just to give away without any hope of attracting orders.Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Which is exactly why I've started printing the name onto cards and sticking the fiddly things onto it - no excuse for them not to know what the sample is for nowAvon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

Yep! I totally agree with you! There have been occasions when I've had to open one of the packets just to work out what the perfume is
I use a fine tip permanent marker & write the perfume name on the back of the packet. The lipstick samples are nearly as bad.'Better to ask a silly question than to make a silly mistake' Elliebee's Mum

I agree about the perfume sample names being difficult to read when they turn. This campaign, I will try the little Avon post it notes on brochures with the samples to draw attention to them. Those on 'old' brochures will be advised it will be in C5 (they will be on C4). Printing little bits of card is a wee bit too technical for me.
Feeling a little unsteady at the moment as my numero uno customer is currently in hospital. I know I shouldn't rely on her orders so much but she tended to order most campaigns with anywhere between £30 - £70 so am really going to have to try recanvassing sometime soon. Is it me, or does C5 brochure look really unexciting? Will have to wait for a decent brochure before I recanvass.
Quick vent - C5 brochure really goes heavy on Mothers Day. Lot of good that will be with customers on previous campaigns orders. The delivery date for C6 (back orders C5) is 15th March - day after Mothering Sunday! Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

On Wednesday i'm hoping to become a SL! I was signed up to Avon by my ASM so it was basically heres your books and off you go
I really want to make sure everyone I sign up gets the best help and support I can give so if you could have the perfect sales leader what would they be like and what extras would you like them to do ect? A few ideas I have:
1. For each campaign I produce a flyer of special offers they can use
2. Hints and tips email every month
3. Bonus start up kit with a few bags, pens and samples
4. Quaterly get togethers at the pub :rotfl:Avon Sales LeaderCamp 18 - £248Camp 1 - £320
