    Slightly left-field question....

Can anyone tell me the sizes of the Avon paper bags (the ones used to deliver to customers) please? I'm trying to work out what sizes to order for my very first order (I only have 13 orders so far!!).

    Thanks very much!

    Bex

    Can anyone help please?

    Thanks! :)

sorry meant to look this up for you yesterday and fell asleep

right the mini paper bags are really small. Just good for 1 or 2 items of small nature ie lipstick.

small paper bags are less than an avon book size, so good for items like face cream in a box, and lipsticks, nail varnishes

medium paper bags, just about take an avon book but are more likely to tear the bag if bulky items put in it. I use these but find if I have more than 3 items and they are bulky, I have to use a few paper bags or it is easier to use a carrier bag.

the large paper bags take an avon book, and a few bulky items.

    Thanks so much, aureol212! :T

That's really helpful. Think I'll order the large ones, as the orders I have received are for at least 4 items!

I ordered one of each mega impact lippy on mine & oh account from HT, all came shrink wrapped, and the ones I ordered from the brochure only came shrink wrapped, no boxes at all for me!

As for avon helping with the product - I wouldn't hold out much luck, I asked them to suggest an alternative lipstick shade for a discontinued lipstick - and they didn't help at all, just told me it was discontinued which I already knew as it said in my email to them lol!

From the sounds of it though, I'd say it was a mini eyeliner from the "colortrend" range - and if so, I don't think there is one for sale at the moment in that colour. There is a purple colortrend eyeliner though, but not sure if the shade would be similar enough.

  • Hi everyone, I've had a query from a potential customer and I'd really like to help her as I'd like her to become an actual customer!! Many years ago she bought an eyeliner from Avon which was quite a bright purple colour. It's now only about 2cm long so she is desperate for a new one. A previous Avon lady had tried to find a replacement for her but the one she found was a darker purple and not as bright. I've noticed in C5 there seems to be a lot of eyeshadows which are bright purple but can't seem to see any eyeliners in this colour. Can any one help??

No specific suggestions to make other than in your case I'd tell her that Avon regularly update/change their products so very unlikely that you'll be able to source the exact one but you'll do your best to find something as close as possible. Emphasise that anything you find will be totally without any obligation and she can even try it out before she commits to buying it.

Then search all the books you can currently order from (including Clearance in your HTs) including your next campaign too and hopefully she'll be so bowled over by your wish to help that she'll deffo become a member of your F&F's.

    Good luck.

PS: Don't know if we all get the same online offers but (sorry, if we do then it was on offer @ £1 this Monday, 25 Jan) wonder if the Colourtrend Berry Nice Eyeliner may fit the bill? Was liquid rather than a pencil but deffo bright (sold quite a few)

There's also a purple Arabian Glow eyeliner too, again not a pencil though. Purple Lustre I believe the shade is called xx

The big ones are handy because you can put your next book in there (together with quite a few products), fold over the top of the bag and then staple a 'Thank You For your Order' type note on top of the customer's copy of their order. (Your more seasoned Avon customers will keep a copy of their order, in which case you just pop your copy in there instead.) Looks very neat/tidy and professional (and easier to handle).

I also order the mini bags because sometimes (if you're lucky! ;)) customers will order smaller item(s) of greater value, which can tend to get lost amongst the rest of the shower gels etc. In such cases the mini bags (I think) 'add value' or make the expensive item(s) look more important. Also use the mini bags sometimes instead of gift wrapping a 'Thank you for introducing a new customer' or 'Congratulations, you placed the highest order in my current campaign' type of messages.

No I have just been on it :D
Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.
