    Hi All

I am fairly new to Avon (on my 4th camp)and wondered whats your opinions on the Loyalty pack in HT6 do you think it is value for money and what is the best way to work it?I.E. Min spend? As i think it could be useful to me and help boost my sales.

    Thanks in Advance

    Kel :D

Completely up to you - you know your customers and how much they usually spend and if it likely to tempt them! I do a loyalty scheme, but don't use the card from avon, for every 6 orders they get a free gift, regardless of how much they spend, just to keep them loyal to me lol. Quite often the gifts haven't cost me anything/minimal amount as I get them through creative ordering, or give them something from the 99p section. I think the pack from avon is good value, but if you have a lot of customers then it wouldn't be enough cards. My MIL does a loyalty scheme to, and she made her own cards up which she stamps each time someone orders.

As for the list you've been given - don't understand your confusion i.e. it seems to me that the list is telling you that the average order placed by customers is £15 and £2.80 average earning is your commission. Avon's commission structure is 20/25% depending on whether you hit MOV/HOV but of course you have the cost of books to take off that so £2.80 is slightly less than 20% of £15 Hope that helps.

THanks for you reply, but I don't think I've read the information wrong.

In the summary it says 104 homes, 41 Potential Customers, 9 Expected Customers, Expected £ Current Campaign £115. Surely the £115 is the total of customer orders, not the expected commission? Otherwise if you assume that the £115 is commission at 20%, each of those 9 expected customers would have to spend an average of just over £63 each!! Regardless of that actual number of customers, taking £115 as the commission, then I'd have to get £575 in orders from 104 homes!
Could be wrong but am guessing that you're expecting Avon to be far easier and more profitable than it actually is. Occasionally customers will search you out but that's the exception, not the rule. Some customers put in very small orders i.e. under £2, and keep you talking for ages on their doorstep because they're just lonely. On the other hand, some of my customers now email their orders through, which makes life much easier..... Horse for courses and all that.

No, I'm not expecting Avon to be easy - I'm very realistic. But, on the other hand, I am also aware that some 'areas' yield better business than others. In the end Avon is supposed to be a way to earn money - right? If it works out that I end up earning nothing per hour or a matter of pence, I'd be better off using that time working in a charity shop and actually giving to the community.

I'm disheartened because I was told (obviously) a bit of a sales pitch to recruit me. I would have preferred my ASM to have been realistic with me and told me that actually it's realistic to have orders from 10% of your allocated roads.

In the end, I am making a few pence for myself, but still pushing and peddling Avon products. I was also very surprised to hear that we have to pay for the brochures. Surely they should give everyone a small amount free every campaign.

I think I know what I'm going to do!! I suppose it doesn't help when my other 'part time' self employed job pays £32 per hour (I'm a piano teacher).....

    Hi bexr

The information about your territory is computer generated. What the computer does is says this is how many houses you have on this road, they expect 25% of the customers on this road to order from you, hence the figure of the number of customers on that road, and based on the number of customers, x % expected sales equals expected earnings.

Take no notice of that info. My ASM told me I couldn't have more territory and quoted those figures at me, including my road, I said to her where were the 4 customers on my road? My neighbours won't buy Avon, the first 2 houses have clear do not give us junk mail or brochures, and they don't give it back, they throw it away. One has an old lady living there who has no interest in avon. I have one customer on my road who buys from me, another neighbour, her daughter does Avon.

When I told my ASM this, she agreed to give me another road to add to my territory.

    Yes, of course!

As for 'an hourly rate' - forget it..... You'll put in lots of unpaid hours; as I see it Avon is a way to get exercise, make new friends and earn some pin money. Can see why you're disheartened if you're thinking it will in any way (other than negatively) compare to your other part-time job's hourly rate.

P.S. Sometimes it's not that far removed from charity work either. :rotfl:

Yes, that's correct. 9 expected customers x £13ish avge spend per customer.

  • Just a quick question,
Seen a few reps advertise for customers on ebay and wondered,
    1) If this is allowed?
    and
    2) Has anyone had any luck doing this if it is allowed?
    Thanks

Yes you get refunded for 40 brochures and one appointment pack when they place an order. Sales leader stationary like appointment packs is in the ht mag, where the codes for order forms etc is in it's own section.

Yes you can sign people into the next campaign, where you fill in the contract at the top with campaign of first order just write the appropriate number on there. Though if I was you I'd sign your oh in this campaign if you get enough of your own sales to split between both your accounts as then if you have 5 people order you'll earn commission on the sales.

excellent thanks. this camps orders havent been that great though to be honest BUT does my OH need to make MOV before i earn commission? and doesnt my acount need to make x amount? etc

yes your OH needs to make MOV and you need to make a certain amount too before you see any commission. Can't remember figures off the top of my head, will have to read up on it. And it is £30 for signing 3 reps and a further £50 for signing 5 in your first 2 campaigns. Unfortunately, not per rep.

You can have a rep place below MOV and still earn commission, I think so long as it is over £30 then it counts as an order. However, obviously you wouldn't get any discount from any orders put through on his account unless you hit mov/hov. So if you had wanted to get some bits from HT then you could order it on his account....though I think I'd wait and make sure I could hit HOV on his account, as would mean you qualified for more free samples on the smart start scheme.
