  • I wonder if anyone can help. My sister and I have been doing Avon combined for about 2-3 yrs and are finally giving up. I've got 3 very loyal customers (they all order pretty much in every brochure) and myself who now needs a rep for the occasional order. Is there anyone in the Southampton area (Aldermoor/Lordshill) that would like to take over my customers. Two are on the same road and one a little further away. They have asked if anyone else will be doing the round so I thought I would ask here.
Please PM me if you think you can help.
    Cheers

    yay!

The 'proof of payment' has been removed from the website and fast-trak as it caused high levels of confusion amongst Representatives.
  • Hi All

I am fairly new to Avon (on my 4th camp)and wondered whats your opinions on the Loyalty pack in HT6 do you think it is value for money and what is the best way to work it?I.E. Min spend? As i think it could be useful to me and help boost my sales.

    Thanks in Advance

well ladies i signed up my first two reps last thursday, saw my OHs sister this weekend and will be signing her up on monday and my AM contacted me today with another sign up for tuesday. so 4/5 in a week and a half.

the thing is i will have two reps in the same block of flats! The first i signed up we are trying to find her territory and the one for tues is in the same building. was rather worried until my AM reassured me she works full time, doesnt want territory and did avon for years until a year ago so she will know what to do. phew! at least i can put the teo in touch with each other so they can help each other etc.

anyway im rather pleased with myself. think i will sign up OH just to get me my 5 and then when i get more in the future he can cancel his.

question time.... when ordering books for reps to sign them up do i order them as i would normally order my own..but more? or is there a specific page where you order things for sign ups? also what happens if i order some books to prospect with and dont find anyone by the end of that camp? can i send them back for a refund?

books in general that you order for sign ups...do you get refunded for them or is that out of your own pocket?

the 'e-guide' is there a printed version you can order? i would like to read through it but it takes ages to load and i cant get through 91 pages on a computer screen

    thats about it lol

    sorry got distracted by FB.

well done you! on target for your fast start bonus.

Yes, good idea to sign your OH up and get him to resign later on when your team is bigger.

Yes, you have to order extra books using the normal ordering system for your first sign ups and any potential sign ups you think you may get. Word of warning, try not to overorder! You cannot send them back for a refund! They charge you 2 campaigns later after you have ordered them, so remember this, otherwise you will get a big shock when you receive your invoice.

Email Avon Sales Leader Help and ask them if they can send you hard copy. Saves you printing it out!

    good luck.
  • Thank you, what bonuses do you get for signing up 5 in x amount of time? she did go through it and i thought yeah right thats not gonna happen...but now that it looks like it will im interested lol.

my order is due in in a week so will sign up OH when thats done otherwise he will only have a week to do his. or can i sign him up now but say that he will start from camp x? etc

Oh, I'm so disheartened...:( I didn't hear from my ASM over the weekend, so I thought "what the hell" and decided to canvass another road (which is a road with tiny 'retired' bungalows). When I was dropping the brochures, a very nice lady opened her door and told me she didn't want one as she already orders from a Rep, and "don't bother giving one to number x as she also uses the same Rep as me". This rang a few alarm bells, as this is the 2nd road I've canvassed and the 2nd time I've been told that...

So I heard back from my ASM this morning, and she told me that all the extra roads I suggested that I canvass are already allocated. [I gave her a list of every road surrounding me and the wider area, totalling an additional 350 houses!!]

It seems to me that the whole of my suburb is covered apart from the odd street I've been given. Hmmmmmmmm.... And some of both streets I've canvassed so far are telling me they already have a Rep .... more hmmmmmm.....

Okay, so I know I'm new, but it really does seem that someone probably had my allocated roads in the past, realised that they weren't going to give much business, but kept the few regular customers?

It just seems too weird that my one road (which has 3 roads coming off it) is the only local road that isn't canvassed???

Another thing that is really surprising is that my ASM sent me a report with some other 'free' roads which included Potential Customers and expected earnings. The Potential Customers total about 35% of each road and the earnings totalled £2.80 per customer!!! I was told when I signed onto Avon that an average customer order is £15. I'm confused, upset and disheartened.... :(

I really can't afford to buy brochures for them to go missing. The roads I've been allocated are not within walking distance to me, and are certainly not on a 'round' (i.e. I can't walk around them one after another). It really does seem like I've been given the 'leftovers' - roads that nobody wants anymore.... And the 'new' roads my ASM have suggested are not local, are small (some only have 7 houses) and are really spread apart. I really can't afford to drive to a road, give out brochures, go back several times to collect them, deliver orders, all for an average 'profit' of 56p per customer (and that's if I reach the MOV each campaign). I will in fact be way out of pocket if I factor in my time and petrol costs.

I don't know what to do??

    Please help!

    Thanks, Bex

    Oh dear.

ASM's are employees of Avon so (as far as I know) only work Monday to Friday. No chance of getting any replies from them over the w/e - hence why we all love this thread so much! ;)

Like you, when I first started I hoped I'd get the street where I lived and a few others nearby so was initially disappointed when I was given a road at the far end of town. Did try to 'hand it back' but failed miserably and am glad now that I did. Some of my best customers are the ones, who live in the roughest looking houses and initially my OH insisted on coming with me to make sure I was safe!

In my experience it's well worth seeing if there's a Council estate on the list you've been given and try with that. Don't just leave a book and live in hopes though, knock and ask if they'd be interested in looking at a book. Takes longer but saves time in the long run - no point leaving a 'precious' book where there's no interest and having the hassle to then get it back. Far better (or so I think) to give them a big smile and ask if they'd like to see how Avon has developed - no obligation - and tell them when you'll collect the book i.e. so they know they're not going to be stuck with 'rubbish'.

As for the list you've been given - don't understand your confusion i.e. it seems to me that the list is telling you that the average order placed by customers is £15 and £2.80 average earning is your commission. Avon's commission structure is 20/25% depending on whether you hit MOV/HOV but of course you have the cost of books to take off that so £2.80 is slightly less than 20% of £15 Hope that helps.

Could be wrong but am guessing that you're expecting Avon to be far easier and more profitable than it actually is. Occasionally customers will search you out but that's the exception, not the rule. Some customers put in very small orders i.e. under £2, and keep you talking for ages on their doorstep because they're just lonely. On the other hand, some of my customers now email their orders through, which makes life much easier..... Horse for courses and all that.
Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon ;))

Yes you get refunded for 40 brochures and one appointment pack when they place an order. Sales leader stationary like appointment packs is in the ht mag, where the codes for order forms etc is in it's own section.

Yes you can sign people into the next campaign, where you fill in the contract at the top with campaign of first order just write the appropriate number on there. Though if I was you I'd sign your oh in this campaign if you get enough of your own sales to split between both your accounts as then if you have 5 people order you'll earn commission on the sales.

You get £30 for signing 3 people and then another £50 for having 5 in your first two campaigns as far as I can remember!
