    oh loopy201.

I'm sorry to hear that, it is just bad luck, it could be these reps were given the territory a while ago. Oh it's a pain for you. Maybe you could check a few more streets near where you live and see if anyone else is doing them, and if not, tell your ASM these postcodes are available and you want them allocated to you.
  • Really sorry to hear that, loopy. Good luck with getting new territory; hope your ASM gets it sorted pdq (could be worth asking for further free books for your next campaign i.e. because of the wasted books given to you so far? They can only say No and maybe they'll agree?)

Am wondering whether this is actually a case of the territory already having been given out before or whether others reps have just cold canvassed the streets (or got referrals from other customers i.e. to add them to their F&F) before they were allocated to you?

Have a new plan lol, want to promote perfumes this year as would get customers to spend that bit more.....have some samples to get rid of so have printed little slips of card with the perfume name on & stuck the samples on with a double sided sticky pad so that the samples are more noticeable and will pop these in the brochures. Then with the new perfumes that are launched (which are fairly cheap to buy at less than £6 say else my customers won't buy them) I'll buy a demo bottle and again print out the bits of card with the names on & give them a good spray with the perfume.....so will get lots of samples for the cost of one bottle, and I can then use the bottle of perfume myself lol or use it to make more samples later! Will see how it goes, if anything at least it might please my customers even if they don't actually buy.

I was thinking of doing a similar thing, I bought some thin ribbon and am going make some bookmarks with the information about the fragrance with the ribbon attached the end then spray the ribbon with the fragrance. Thinking the smell may last longer on the ribbon than card!

I've also printed off from the Avon website the tables which show which Avon fragrances are comparable to high street fragrances. Hoping this may tempt potential customers to try a similar fragrance to one they may already wear to save a bit of money!

  • Hi There!

Which high street brand fragrance is closest to Eternal Magic? Plan to highlight perfume with the websites comparison table.. My daughter (26) says it looks like an old persons fragrance. Selling price £7..

Also the same for spotlight? Compars with? My daughter said Courtney Cox will selling at £12..

Want to give fragrance samples to customers but not two camps running for perfume. Think the cashere samples are abit expensive to order for camp 5. not had many customers yet so not sure of their colourings. Thinking of using eyelift samples as highlighted in brochure for mothers day. Gave reversalist eye samples for C4 tho. Its so confusing!

Anyones help will as always be very much appreciated!

PS Not sold a single mega impact....

It's either a mix up with allocation of territory or cold canvassing as my friend lives on one of the streets and didn't know the person. Needless to say she already orders from me. I think i'll try the free books like you say they can only say no.

Excellent idea with the ribbon, let us know how it goes. I've pointed out the make up comparisons to friends before who have now switched over to avon, good luck

Just to make sure we are really confused....lol

    Campaign 3 Mega Impact Lipstick

In Campaign 3, for every Mega Impact lipstick you sell, you will receive full award sales. Mega Impact lipstick was launched at a special introductory price of £4 in Brochure 3 (regular customer selling price of £8), which means you will receive Award Sales of £8 per lipstick! However, there has been some confusion around how this appears on your invoice. Hopefully the information below will help to explain how this deal will appear:

The lipsticks are being promoted at £4 each in the brochure. So you will earn £1 (25%) and therefore pay Avon £3.

The only way to make this work, for both sales and returns, was to set it up on our system with a customer price of £8 (to be added to your Award Sales) and then change the discount to £5 (£1 normal discount + £4 to counter the increased brochure price).

So the result is £8 customer price, less £5 discount, which mean the Representative pays £3.

The £8 will show on the internet, but it will also show the discount and the amount to pay Avon

Like the idea of spraying onto card but how long will the fragrance last for? Not sure 'my lot' would notice anyway being that sometimes when I include a fragrance sample it comes back in the bag with the book!

I reckon if I give it a good squirt then it should last long enough in the sealed bag, afterall the scented pages last pretty well anyway, and the card is pretty porous. I have a feeling with my customers, they dont use the perfume samples as they dont want to have to wash it off if they dont like it, whereas this way, they can just have a quick sniff of the card to see if they like it...will give it a go, it wont cost me much so worth a shot! I didnt used to sell much perfume, but slowly each campaign more and more customers have been trying the cheaper perfumes or body sprays so hopefully this will give them a nudge in the right direction!

Also trying now to give my custoomers 5 order forms, with a note saying for each additional order they get they can get 5% off their OWN order, up to a max of 20% (ie 4 more orders), will see how it goes. Yes the customers could just split their order up across a few order forms, but I dont reckon mine are smart enough to realise that lol! Hopefully will give my sales a boost!

    Hi everyone!

I am a newbie, and became a Avon Rep just last week!! I didn't do it through a SL but contacted Avon directly, and then my ASM contacted me and met with me for the 1st time last week.

She gave me a set of 40 Campaign 4 brochures and some order forms, and then told me my allocated roads (which includes the road where I live).

I've had a look at the roads I've been allocated, and I don't really understand why I haven't been given roads that are attached to mine? I've driven around my allocated roads, and I'm really not happy with them. In fact one of the postcodes I've been is an Industrial Park with no residential houses! I want to be a successful Avon Rep, and without going into details and risking offending anyone, I know this is not going to happen with the roads I've been given (one of them is really hard to access, so would be a nightmare delivering).

Can I ask for my allocated roads to be changed and give my ASM a list of roads I would like (obviously if they are available and not allocated to someone else already)?

I'd be so grateful if someone can help me, as if I can't change my allocated roads, I think I will just resign and not bother... :(

    Thanks!

    Bex

So I've finished canvassing my own road. I ended up with just 4 orders (totalling £56) from 46 houses. Two people told me that they order from another Rep. Unfortunately, 14 houses didn't bother to leave their books out and didn't answer the door when I knocked to collect, then still didn't leave them out after I'd pushed a slip through and then called again at a later date - hubby ended up going back a 3rd time and got them all except 2!

I haven't heard from my ASM re allocation of new roads, so I went ahead and canvassed another road quite a walk away from my road. There are 34 houses there, but I don't hold out much hope as they are tiny retired prefab bungalows. Plus as I was delivering the brochures, one lady opened the door and told me that she didn't want it as both her and 'number 13' already order from another Avon Rep. I asked her if it was a friend, to which she replied "no".

I'm highly suspicious that someone used to be allocated the same roads as I have now been allocated, but has kept certain customers (probably the ones that order regularly).

I only signed on Tuesday, so I am still in my 14 day cooling off period.

    What does everyone advise?

    Thanks, Bex

  • Hi Bex,

In your position I think I'd try to speak to your ASM tomorrow to ask for further territory and meanwhile just ask around to see if you can't get some ideas from your friends and neighbours i.e. quite often you'll come across someone who can lead you in the direction of a street that's not being covered or been canvassed for a while.

Am just in the process of inputting my C4 order and seems that MOV is reduced in this one so you're not far off. Wouldn't disappoint the customers you've already got - from little acorns and all that.

Some of us offer gifts and/or a discount off next order for anyone introducing a new customer - takes a while but word will spread. Of course, there are no guarantees and you won't earn a great deal for a while (if ever!) - up to you whether the effort you need to put in is worth the benefits you can get by doing Avon.

    Good luck whatever you decide.
