Hi everyone!
I am a newbie, and became a Avon Rep just last week!! I didn't do it through a SL but contacted Avon directly, and then my ASM contacted me and met with me for the 1st time last week.
She gave me a set of 40 Campaign 4 brochures and some order forms, and then told me my allocated roads (which includes the road where I live).
I've had a look at the roads I've been allocated, and I don't really understand why I haven't been given roads that are attached to mine? I've driven around my allocated roads, and I'm really not happy with them. In fact one of the postcodes I've been is an Industrial Park with no residential houses! I want to be a successful Avon Rep, and without going into details and risking offending anyone, I know this is not going to happen with the roads I've been given (one of them is really hard to access, so would be a nightmare delivering).
Can I ask for my allocated roads to be changed and give my ASM a list of roads I would like (obviously if they are available and not allocated to someone else already)?
I'd be so grateful if someone can help me, as if I can't change my allocated roads, I think I will just resign and not bother...
Thanks!

I can't help you with your first question, but I can offer some info and advice regarding being self-employed.
The easiest way to register as self-employed is to telephone HRMC on 0845 915 4515. You'll need a list of info to hand, which you can view here: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/selfemployed/register-selfemp.htm
As you'll be earning what is classed as 'small earnings' (expected to be less thatn £5075 for the 2009-10 tax year) you don't 'need' to pay Class 2 NI contributions. See this leaflet for more info: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/forms/cf10.pdf If you have children, your Class 2 NI contributions are protected, but if you don't have chlidren and opt not to pay Class 2 NI contributions, then your State Pension could be affected. Even if you're employed and paying Class 1 NI contributions, you still have to pay or get an exemption certificate for Class 2 Ni contributions if you are self-employed, regardless for how many hours you work or how much you earn.
With regard to claiming JSA and working. You can continue to claim JSA if you are working less than 16 hours per week on average. You will need to tell the Job Centre where you sign on, and they will sort it out for you. I was self-employed many years ago, and during that time my husband ended up out of work and on JSA. I had to fill in a special form that he took with him each time he signed on, detailing the amount of money I had earnt for the 2 week period. They then took this into account when awarding the JSA - so it was a different amount each time (as I earnt differing amounts each week).
You could phone tax credits 0845 300 3900 and ask their advice, but I'm sure they'll tell you to just keep a record (which you will do for tax purposes anyway, even if you don't earn enough to actually pay any tax!) and then you will fill in the amount you've earnt during the tax year in your Annual Declaration form.
Hope this helps.

I don't have a SL, i was emailed the territory report and have printed it out. Is it possible that both of us have been allocated the same streets?
Not sure? I hope not!!!
I normally just request territory for my new reps, it gets RESERVED for them on the system (it won't show their name on top of the report yet at this stage, but it will still be reserved) until I get a message from AVON when they've loaded the reps agreement at Corby to update pending territory and once I've updated their territory I print off my territory report and it will actually indicate the reps name on top of the territory report.
I think the best thing to do is speak to your Area Manager she will be able to tell you exactly what is going on. My Area Manager is very good, she normally gets back to me as soon as she can.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Potentially some of the other roads could already be allocated to other reps, for instance I have one road which has 3 tiny little cul de sacs coming from it (only about 20 houses in total), so I enquired about getting them, but apparently they are part of anothers reps patch which is a bit bizarre but the system just allocates according to postcodes so it can be odd at times.
I'd ask about getting some more territory, but not necessarily give up what you do have, as there could be some great customers on it, and they don't tend to let you "pick and choose", but if you ask for more, they usually give you some extra, especially if you explain that some is an industrial estate.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
Anyone else having problems printing off the vouchers for the mortgage competition? I get a basic icon and what looks like a link but even though I've downloaded Adobe and enabled pop-ups from the website I still can't actually see or print the vouchers.
Any suggestions i.e. am I doing something wrong or is the site not working properly?Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

My Mums text asking if avon do a sensitive mascara.....I never use mascara myself so can only go from what it says in the brochures, which doesn't indicate if one is better for sensitive skin/eyes than another........does anyone have sensitive skin/eyes who can recommend a particular one for my Mum please? Thanks if you can, if you have any suggestions could you email me please, at LaurasTeam@myavon.co.uk

I took about £400 in orders but that was just family/friends and some good work orders from friends at work. I have just been to collect my first street today which is only 12 houses I managed to get 4 books back with one £17 order and I've left notes to say i'll call back tomorrow to try and get some more of the books back. I registered as self employed after 3 months but you can get fined if you declare late, I don't know how long you have though. The only reason I didn't do it straight away was bacause I wanted to see if it was going to be worth my whille. The thing to remember is that you can take so many different things of your total earnings so it can end up as you earning very little.
Hope this helps0 -
Hi Everyone,
I started avon 2 weeks ago and am very pleased with how its going. I have £200 in orders from one street and still have another to do. However my SL is a bit hard to speak to so i am a little confused about something.
I am currently on books 3 &4 and will put these orders in when due. My Sl has given me books 5 ready for after the delivery. Am i right in thinking that once i have ordered from a book i can no longer use it again. So when books 3&4 orders have been placed thats it with those and i move onto book 5. I dont undertsand when people say about using books twice etc.
I really hope someone can help

no you will be using 3 and 4 for camp 4 (back ordering camp 3), when you place your 4 order you will order books 6. you then use book 5 and back order book 4 until you place the camp 5 order. does that make sense?
when you put in order numbers online you change the number in the drop down box from current camp ie 4 to previous camp ie3 (that is back ordering)camp 12=£443 13=£425 14=£277 15=£474 16=£492 17=£438 18=£437 1=£319 2=£153:o 3=£220 :jSALES LEADER:j4=£202 5=£191 6=£167 7=£193 8=£216 9=£211
