I started avon 2 weeks ago and am very pleased with how its going. I have £200 in orders from one street and still have another to do. However my SL is a bit hard to speak to so i am a little confused about something.
I am currently on books 3 &4 and will put these orders in when due. My Sl has given me books 5 ready for after the delivery. Am i right in thinking that once i have ordered from a book i can no longer use it again. So when books 3&4 orders have been placed thats it with those and i move onto book 5. I dont undertsand when people say about using books twice etc.
I really hope someone can help

Hi Natalie and welcome!
Think you'll find this thread really useful (I do) so just ask away and you'll get lots of help.
Shame about your SL; she should really be the one to sort out all of your problems initially (or at least so I thought) although sometimes I wonder if they do try and divert you to sort out your own problems rather than molly-coddle you through. Good and bad in both approaches, I guess.
As Sophisoph explained, whichever campaign you are on you can also order from the previous campaign's book too i.e. back-order. This is useful as it not only means you can split your customers between two campaigns (I have my given territory on my current campaign and Friends & Family on my back campaign) so you only need to order half as many books but also you can order goods from whichever book is selling at the best price. Sometimes I let my customers know that I've managed to get their order at a cheaper price (word spreads really quickly and you can get new customers that way) but sometimes I keep the price benefit for myself. Up to you whichever choice you make. Sometimes though people order at full price and then it's half price in their next book and that makes me feel guilty...... there's a solution to that but will save that for another post - don't want to confuse you too much!
Sounds like you have a good street there; good luck with your next one and welcome again to Avon - hope you enjoy it.Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Thank you very much, also i have noticed that a few people have ordered separate things that mean a free gift, can i order this and keep it?

Hi Natalie, Welcome as you can see this thread is really useful everyone is ready to offer advice and support which is a life saver when your sl is hard to speak to. As explained above you can always order from the current campaign and the previous one. If your ordering online ensure you log in for ordering a regular order from the current campaign number (4 for you) then when you type in your order numbers use the drop down icon to change the brochure number to the previous number (3 for you) if it is an item from that book. As mentioned the best way to make the most out of your orders is to split your streets and have some on each campaign just keep a note of who's on what. I record whos ordered from each book then once I've put my order in I'll start again with the customers that didn't order this time with their next campaign during the week I'm waiting for my orders to arrive. I always make sure i leave time to get the books back in before my orders arrive or have enough left to go out with the orders, I always find it easier to hand over orders and new books at the same time. Try and prep your order forms and books (put your details on, order collection dates, delivery dates, customer names etc) before your order arrives you'll find that your first few orders will take you longer until you get used to it, I spent hours on my first one and then got in a mess with the books to go out and oreder forms. I also have a list of anyone who has a large order to ensure I put a little thankyou gift in, usually just a 99p shower gel or similar that really only costs me 75p, well worth it though. I'm sure you'll pick up loads more tips on this thread. Sounds like you've got a good street, keep us informed on how you get on.

Hi Natalie
Sounds like you've got it. You can order it and keep it or at this early stage I would use it as a free gift for them to try and get yourself established as s good rep with your customers. Word of mouth is always a good way of increasing your orders.

Just checking are you giving both books out to each customer or just the one?0

deanos, SL's were encouraging their teams to order something, even if it was only 99p to keep their accounts active and to ensure they got their bonuses.
However, we are only ALLOWED to put through an order for a Rep's account if we have their permission to submit their order. For example, a few months ago, I had no internet access, so I called my SL and asked her to put my order through for me. It would have shown on my records as SL Internet, which means she had submitted my order, but she HAD to have my permission to do it.
Contact Avon and see if they have a record of who put the order through.
Thanks we will investigate further, not happy someone has ordered something without asking0 -
Have a new plan lol, want to promote perfumes this year as would get customers to spend that bit more.....have some samples to get rid of so have printed little slips of card with the perfume name on & stuck the samples on with a double sided sticky pad so that the samples are more noticeable and will pop these in the brochures. Then with the new perfumes that are launched (which are fairly cheap to buy at less than £6 say else my customers won't buy them) I'll buy a demo bottle and again print out the bits of card with the names on & give them a good spray with the perfume.....so will get lots of samples for the cost of one bottle, and I can then use the bottle of perfume myself lol or use it to make more samples later! Will see how it goes, if anything at least it might please my customers even if they don't actually buy.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

That sounds like a good idea to spray the perfume onto some slips of card. It's often hard to smell them when it's on the scented pages especially 2-3 customers down the line. I've just ordered the new one thats only going to be £6 so I'm also hoping to get some sales. I've got a party on Friday so i'll be taking a bottle to pass round.0 -
Was also thinking of promoting fragrances more although most of my customers tend to agree that whilst they like the make-up, they're not keen on the fragrances.
Like the idea of spraying onto card but how long will the fragrance last for? Not sure 'my lot' would notice anyway being that sometimes when I include a fragrance sample it comes back in the bag with the book!
Can see why Avon suggest the idea of carrying around a demo bottle and spraying your customers when you visit them (sounds very professional) but when I deliver my orders it takes me all my time to hand over the goods and collect payment/give change (unbelievably, I have been known to walk away having handed over the goods and the change but forgetting to take the customer's money!) - always seems to need an extra pair of hands. By the time I've told them that their new book is in the order and when I'll collect it, reminding them that it's in a waterproof resealable bag so OK to pop on their doorstep and the next delivery date of anything they order I think they've had enough of me! :rotfl: Irrespective of my clumsiness, I have ordered some sample vials of Spotlight (am told it's nice - is it? Anyone tried it?) and IF I like it then I may give Avon's suggestion a bit of a try.
Am deffo noooo sales(wo)man; my best line is 'try it and if you don't like it then you can send it back for a full refund' - works sometimes..... but generally am 'too soft' i.e. last campaign someone asked if it were possible to get a sample of a certain fragrance. It wasn't listed so I ordered the offer (£10 for 1/£12 for 2) thinking that a) if she didn't like it I'd send them both back, b) if she wanted one bottle then I'd charge her £10, or c) she could have them both for £12. Failed miserably - she took one bottle for £6!!! Luckily I quite like it so looks like I have my first demo bottle.... :rotfl: Shame it's not one that's well known.Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Just been to collect remainder of books and it turns out thjat another rep is also doing this street as well. Thats all three of my allocated territory already being covered. That can't be just bad luck or can it? I'm so annoyed its been a waste of my time and now I'm three books down with no territory to do. I've emailed asm again but it's going to be monday at the earliest now and I'll be back to work.0
