What skincare product would you recommend to a 50+ customer who wants the Ultimate beauty bonus bag? No skincare used at all so far. Lots of under eye wrinkles.. Was wondering about the eye lift and cleanser to add up to £20 or the derma-full serum? also, how good is the instant face lift as its in the bonus bag set for 4.50 in ht6? Customer also doesnt use foundation so wamt to promote that too next campaign and was thinking the anew cream to powder as its easy? Any help will as always be very much appreciated!0

From the reviews I've read, "Eye Lift" is probably more suited to slightly younger skin, and if she has a lot of under eye wrinkles, she probably won't see 'amazing' results.
How about the Elixir Premium, which is on offer in brochure 4 - £20 instead of £30. This is aimed at 50+ skin and is "clinically proven to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and age spots".
I always think it's better (especially for 50+ skin) to use the products that have been specifically developed for that age rather than the "all ages" products.
NB - My mum (who is 65) loves the cream to powder foundation! She rarely wears any make-up. I think this would be an excellent choice for your customer!

WOW! That's fantastic - well done!
I'm also having problems with street allocations. My ASM has been brilliant trying to sort it out for me!
There is one Rep who has over 250 houses allocated to her in my area but only orders a handful of brochures each campaign. Well, to cut a long story short she is not bothering to canvass the roads she's been given, but has been canvassing 3 roads that I've been given including my own road!!!!! My ASM was pretty annoyed about the situation, so she's now sorted it, but it probably will mean me making sure I fully canvass all my roads for at least 3 campaigns to show my 'new' customers that I can in fact be bothered with them, LOL!
Hugs, Bex x
Just canvassed a 13 house street, 2 people said they were not interested. Then I got to number 11 who said someone already delivers here  she started doing there last nov/dec. So I'm now 10 books down. Any idea how often the street allocation data gets up dated. I've emailed my asm but then I'm still waiting for a reply from an email from last Monday.0 -
loopy201 - Have you got a mobile number for your ASM? I'd send her a quick text message saying that you need to speak to her urgently re your road allocations, and say that you sent her an email last week and you're worried it hasn't got to her. That way you're not bothering her at that moment, and she can get back to you when she's available. There is a chance that your email has ended up in her junk folder and she hasn't actually read it yet.
I'm really p**sed off that this one Rep has basically taken on every street in my suburb, whether they be allocated to her or not, but doesn't bother to canvass them but keeps her regular customers (she has 250+ houses, but only orders 15 books per campaign, according to my ASM!).
My ASM confirmed to me that she has spoken to the Rep and told her that she can't canvass streets that aren't allocated to her on the system, and that they are allocated to me!
What I'm going to do from now on is change the wording of my "Hello, I'm your new Avon Rep..." A5 slip that I pop in with my brochures to intro myself to say something like "Hello, my name is Becky and I'm your new Avon Rep! I'm new to the area and I'm delighted that Avon has given me your street to look after" - so it assures them that I am their 'official' Avon Rep, and then hopefully they won't chuck my brochure in the bin!

thanx for pointing that fact out.so do we tell customers/write notes????
not been very well so not posted this week.i don't know what's been going on in my head but i thought my C4 order went off this coming Tuesday but it was actually THIS week.Wednesday was total chaos as i had to contact customers asking if they had orders/explaining what had happened-i was due to pick books up on Thursday!
What I did last year was not mention the fact that the stuff wouldn't be there in time for christmas - but on my letter I put on the back cover - I made no mention of buying things for mothers day, and I have the date I'll be deliverying on there. Wasn't a problem last year.
What I'm doing this year now I'm more in the swing of it (started January last year so had only been doing a couple of campaigns when mothers day came round) is to start promoting certain things for mothers day now, that way all my customers, even the ones on my back order round, will get their products in time. Like in C4 I'm suggesting the bottle of soft musk perfume at £3.25. Will do the same when Fathers day starts getting closer, and get rid of all my mens fragrance samples too.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
On Wednesday i'm hoping to become a SL! I was signed up to Avon by my ASM so it was basically heres your books and off you go
I really want to make sure everyone I sign up gets the best help and support I can give so if you could have the perfect sales leader what would they be like and what extras would you like them to do ect? A few ideas I have:
1. For each campaign I produce a flyer of special offers they can use
2. Hints and tips email every month
3. Bonus start up kit with a few bags, pens and samples
4. Quaterly get togethers at the pub :rotfl:
Firstly - get yourself registered on www.flissys.com - its a website for SL. You get 2 weeks free, after that you have to pay, but its only £12 for a whole year so well worth it in my opinion, there are some lovely people on there, who have been SL since it was launched and are happy to help newbies. There are also documents on there to download, and you can even buy "leads" (details of people who are interested, sometimes people apply to a website, but the SL isn't close enough to sign them themselves, so they sell on the details).
The emails & get togethers sound great, as does your newsletter. I email my reps every campaign, with suggestions of increasing sales/getting new customers, or anything important like incentives avon is running etc.
I'd watch how much you give new reps, we only get reimbursed for 40 brochures & one sign up pack, when the rep has placed an order of at least MOV. So if you get people who give it a go, but don't order (which happens quite often) then you are out of pocket just on the minimum that we have to provide. It is nice to give reps a bit extra to get them off to a good start having said that, what I do is give them 40 brochures on the first appointment (20 of the current, and 20 of the previous campaign, so that they can "split" their territory from day one), order forms HT etc, and also 40 resealable bags & 25 calling cards. THen on the second appointment I give them 20 of the next campaigns brochures. This means they have a better chance of getting orders, as they should find it easier to get their books back. I'd suggest doing that rather than giving them pens/samples, as if they can't get their brochures back then they won't get any orders. Maybe give them samples/pens etc at your second appointment, when you can see how they have done - that way if they don't have many orders and change their mind, you know not to waste any more of your money.
It may sound harsh, but otherwise you will soon be out of pocket for people who never actually place an order, which could easily add up to more than you'll earn from your team. I take a risk giving them the extra brochures, bags & calling cards, as it makes it as easy as possible for them - but some people still think the brochures will deliver themselves!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
Hi All, I had my first avon party last night. It went really well I took £235 in orders, £33 in my bargain basket and made £5 profit from my buy a square. Best of all I got 2 more party bookings. Just the boost I needed after my still continuing issues with territory. I am still being issued with streets and when I got to canvass it I am finding out that yet again someone else is already covering it, 6 streets so far. I have another one to try today so fingers crossed.
well done...what is 'buy a square'?
well on the subject of avon parties (not avons fault but still on subject lol) i was supposed to be having my first one ...now. I arranged it 2 or 3 weeks ago for family and close friends to practice, have a giggle and basically test out some games and ideas and get my confidence up ready for a customer one in a few weeks time.
i had 13 people say yes to coming so purposely didnt invite more as my house is small. by today it was down to 2 friends, my mum, a rep of mine + HER mum (so wouldnt buy anyway) and one girl who i was going to be making over.
cancelled. Im so fed up with unreliable people and thought my 'friends' would help me out more and be more supportive but when it comes down to it they couldnt be bothered.
my sister was supposed to bring 2 friends but forgot to ask them and went out last night so is hung over! she said 'cant you do it next weekend?'! NO! I had games planned, planned it on a day when my son was away and my 'model' had a babysitter, had borrowed chairs, brought nibbles and drinks...im soooo annoyed! thoughtless people! why say yes when you have no intention of coming!?
It worked out that if i had gone ahead i would have been losing money on the prizes etc or raffle and therefore effectively paying them to be there lol. pointless really.
So seeing as the whole point was to practice and get my confidence up...well it didnt really work did it lol
RANT OVER. sorry needed to be done before digging into these breadsticks and cracking open the wine lolcamp 12=£443 13=£425 14=£277 15=£474 16=£492 17=£438 18=£437 1=£319 2=£153:o 3=£220 :jSALES LEADER:j4=£202 5=£191 6=£167 7=£193 8=£216 9=£211

Sorry, sophisoph, that sounds awful. With the earlier comments about having an Avon party I was wondering whether to go in that direction..... Maybe not now though, having read your post.
On the other hand, any tips from people who do give (successful) Avon parties? I haven't got a clue..... What do you actually do? Do you need loads of samples or do you just put in a huge order (and then return it if no-one orders anything)?
As ever, any/all advice very much appreciated.

I can tell you what I did but this was my first party.
I checked out the offers in the party brochure and made sure I had a range of products. I didn't bother with things that they can't really try during the party (shampoos etc or the anew creams as you have to try them over a number of days to see the benefit)
I made up a "Sarahs avon party specials" mini booklet which was items from the previous brochure that had been on offer but were full price in the party brochure so that they felt like they were getting a bargain.
I offered the host a few different parties. She went for the foot spa party. She told her guests to bring a basin and a towel. I used the lavender footworks range so that they could really test them out. I pre purchased them at 99p each and sold them as a buy the 3 tonight for £4.
I made a grid and sold squares for £1 each and had a necklace from ht clearance as the prize. you just cut the squares up and do it like a raffle.
I went through the brochure in sections. I explaines about the different ranges and handed the products round. I passed around a mirror and encouraged them to try on the makeup.
I gave the host 10% of orders (not including bargain basket or buy a square) for her to use in the brochure. I also offer a gift worth up to £20 if two people book a party within 8 weeks she'll get it after the second party.
I put a few star stickers in different books and if they found a star they won that item. This worked well as it got them excited looking through each page.
Hope this helps0 -
Thanks, loopy; think I need to 'work up' to that one.
Sounds quite scarey
You say you offered the hostess a choice - what were the other choices i.e. other than Foot Spa?Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)
