  • Can you make your own avon website? I've just spent hours making one with pages such as the history of Avon, online order form for existing clients and info about all the Avon brands but then I read somewhere that your not allowed but i've searched everything my ASM gave me and gone through the Avon website and cannot find anything that says yes or no. Please dont tell me I wasted my weekend:(

As a SL you can't have anything other than an official website - but the rules aren't as strict as a rep. I think (but don't quote me on it) that you can have your own website as a rep, so long as you don't have the word "avon" in your domain name, and that you make it plain anything you say is your opinion, not avons.

This person is a SL, and her website is here: http://avonlondon.co.uk/default.aspx

Is this an 'official' web site??

Doesn't look like it, but there are a few non-official websites that were approved years ago, before Avon launched their own sites for SL. So it could be one of these "approved" websites. Unfortunately avon no longer approve any websites, so unless you can get an approved website, as a SL, we're stuck with the official ones. You can change a little, but not much. This is my official website: http://www.myavon.co.uk/LaurasTeam

All the offical ones are a variation on this theme, we can only alter the colours, pics, layout slightly and of course edit the page where we put our own story.

Hello, I feel like I totally wasted my time this evening.
Out and about an hour. Not a single order and 10 books down! Books were visible on the door mats in some cases, but INSIDE the house iyswim. Many many times lights were on, no reply to knocking. So frustrating, as now i've got but a handful of books left.

Not sure what to do, my first thought is print out some short letters asking for my books back, and please leave them on doorstep, i'll be back again tommorrow.

I'm hardly the most elequent at letters, has anyone got something I could have to copy or edit a tiny bit please?

I put something along these lines:

Sorry I missed you, I called to collect the Avon Brochure. Please leave it outside on x day, even if you are not placing an order. Thank you

Usually gets you a few more brochures back, some people just don't remember to leave them out, and people won't answer the door unless they know who it is in most cases. And the houses that you still don't get the book back from - don't give them a book again until a few campaigns later, give them you previous campaigns brochures, that way if you don't get them back it doesn't matter as you don't need them again anyway.

  • great party tips, i think i must have crap 'friends' really lol. the point was to get the practice out of the way to order tues, then get the customer parties sorted to get the orders in ready for delvery before mothers day...so im gonna swallow my pride, invite customers and just go with it. In fact ill invite twice as many as i did this time and expect only half of them to turn up lol.

watch this space for a 'oh my god i had 30 people i dont know in my living room sitting on boxes and drinking from teapots....' rant on here in a few weeks lol.

signed up my 4th rep this evening, 5th on tuesday. whoop whoop.

gutted though i signed my OH up on the current camp as we had enough to both hit target, just as i had signed him up i got an email about the changes to fast start or smart start thingy (me? sl? lol) anyway the camp 5 is when the changes happen and the incentives are soooo much better than the usual ones! lol oh well. serves me right for being impatient.

lastly...isnt the credit limit a blimmin ball ache?? ive explained it to my reps because i wasnt told and it was a big shock having to pay up front in my first campaign but you can see the worry in their faces lol.

You will automatically get sent extra copies of the HT once you start ordering greater quantities of brochures.

Once the smart start changes come into effect in C5, all reps get swapped onto the new system, or at least thats how I read it.

Having read through this thread there appears to be a lot of comments on how the quality of SLs can vary. I would like to sign up as a rep but would obviously prefer to do so with a ‘good’ SL. The fact that this thread is so active suggests that you are all really pro-active and interested in doing a good job. I don’t suppose that, of those of you that are SLs, anyone is based down near Portsmouth? If so – can I join your team?
