As an alternative and if you miss the 14th December deadline for the post office, the NSPCC do beautifully illustrated letters from Santa for a suggested donation of £5...
Please also consider getting the Letter from Santa from the children's charity the NSPCC. The suggested donation is £5 but you can donate what you can afford. I got one last year for my daughter and it was very nice, have sent for one this year too. They also do a "baby's 1st Christmas" letter. You have to order by 16th December,
This is a lovely idea - I did them last year for my son and two nephews who were thrilled. The 'baby's first christmas' one sounds fun too. You don't have to give as much as £5 if you are skint but it is probably the most worthwhile thing you could do with a fiver this Christmas!
It does sound a lovely Idea but I decided a couple of years ago to check out charities finances before giving and I now dont give to charities that pay the boss more than £100,000 per year . Unfortunately a quick scan of the NSPCC's finances for 2010 reveal that the top honcho there
fills his or her pockets with more than £150,000 as wages per year not counting any expenses! with another 5 of the pack each taking over £100,000 out of the mouths of babes and suckers. I dont think I will be giving that business any of my hard earned cash.. sorry but I personally feel big charity bosses are taking obscene amounts of money and the old excuse of "we need to pay top rates to get the best staff" is a well recited phrase quoted by the rich to try and protect the fat cats club from infiltration by the poor people
My 3 children sent letters to Santa with the Royal Mail Santa Letter about a month ago. So far we've received just 1 reply and that means it'll end up in the bin if the other replies dont arrive in time because it's unfair for the other 2.
Got two more days of post but seeing that we havent seen our postman all week, I havent got my hopes up. Royal Mail is a waste of space.
Luckily I found this site and have a back up plan:

We have been using this for a number of years now & passed it on to so many people. Its great that you can make the message personal & add photos. Well done to P.N.P.:money:
Last year my 4 year old niece duly wrote and posted a letter to Santa, using a First Class Stamp and enclosing an SAE also using First Class stamps. She didn't receive a letter so a very disappointed little girl and a nice profit for Royal Mail, because I know of three other children who also did not receive letters.
This year I'm acting as Santa and writing my own letter to my niece. I
I used the rm last two years, first year was ok for free but could have done better myself.
Last year they didn't reply to either of my girls even though they wrote seperately with first class stamps in good time, they were very upset.
This year we're doing them at school for a very reasonable £3 for a quality incredibly personalised letter posted from finland, all profit to the friends of the school - definately won't be using the rm again.
I wouldn't want to pay a commercial firm or the £5-£10 the big charities charge but might be worth seeing if you have a local school or charity doing them at a resonable price.

The charities suggest a donation to be paid for their cause. It isn't a "charge" they make.
Personally, would much rather make a donation to charity during this season of goodwill rather than get some 'free' letter from RM.
Does anyone know if the pnp use the same video. A few years ago you could choose between different videos (we have three kids to send to and the older ones may get suspicious if they all get the same message). Thanks
Two of my children's names are not in Santa's library on PNP. Does anyone know of another video messaging site that allows for more unique names. The 2 that are missing out are really sad

You can find the details on the NSPCC website.
