No mention of any £120 fee, so very happy indeed. just £11.50 monthly on the evening and weekend tariff 12 months contract

Don't forget to sign up for paperless billing and it will be £10.27 per month as here.

We've ordered a reconnection to a house we're moving into and got the £29.99 reconnection deal with unlimited weekend calls. Now I've seen that the evening/weekend call package is the same price I think we'll see if we can get upgraded to that.

    No. Yes. Yes.

See the previous answers to this question in this thread (including those on this very page, 57. See #1123, for example.) What have the previous answers not explained?
  • For my first post on MSE first of all thanks to all on this post for info learned...and now my quick story..
Placed an order with BT on Tuesday of this week for a line to my new build property that I am moving into next week. Confirmation email next day tells me £123 charge blah blah..open reach..blah.blah..8 operators later including telling one that Plus net will do it for half that and I cancelled my order.
Next day rang SKY..Hello can you install me a line so I can have your broadband and telly services please? "Why yes of course sir ...we can do that for you for FREE...and while your at it why not have a free upgrade to a sky+ box and your first 3 months broadband and telephone line for free as well....."
Thank you SKY....pssshh to you BT, you dont till still have the monopoly remember....

You are not comparing like with like. A landline costs £10.50 per month. The package you describe costs £27 at minimum, £37 if you want decent broadband, £54 if you want to see films or sport, another ten pounds if you want high definition, another seven pounds if you want films AND sport.

Pay Sky £972 over 18 months they give you a £125 connection for free. What a bargain. Pay BT £126 for 12 months it is not viable to give you a £125 connection for free. If you pay BT £10.50 for 18 months, they'll charge you only £30 for the connection.

That's exactly where I am now. I don't really want TV, just a phone line. I can also get free broadband through my employer, so it's just a phone line i'm after. Unfortunetly the house that i've just moved into needs connecting, so BT want £123.

I've seen this offer on the BT price list. It appeared to be on offer throughout 2008, but seemed to expire the end of 2008. Is there any way I can still get the £30 connection?

On another note (if its the wrong forum, please point me in the right direction), I have mobile broadband with 3. 6 months into my 18 months contract. At the start speeds were fine, but now its shockingly slow, connection often drops, and sometimes I cant even log on. I want out the contract, but of course the only way out of to pay 3 the full amount (i.e. outstanding 12 months x £15 = £180). Is there any way out of a contract if one believes the product is not up to scratch? I have called the technical support a few times, so they have a record of my problems.

    Thanks.

If you take £29.99 connection offer you cant have the free evening weekend offer. its one or the other.
    TIMSMITH73.
Please let us know your outcome of getting SKY to arrange a new line with Openreach for free.without using BT Retail. this could save a lot of money for people if SKY are doing free phone line installs.

We took advantage of the £29.99 re-connection offer on 31 December, BT coming tomorrow (for a house we're moving into soon), and we're getting free weekend calls included. We've not got the evening calls included but as that package is showing up as £0.00 too we're going to enquire if we can change over.
