$29.99 connection charge has been extended so is still available.
re virgin. as far as i know virgin are not using wholesale calls so 1280 should still work. only sky. talk talk and some aol are using wholesale calls. My experience of off net virgin customers is that cps is still being used so 1280 will still work.how long this will last i dont know

BT seem to know nothing of this £29.99 deal when you talk to them. Anyone know how to get the information out of them, and what the exact terms and conditions are please?

Until 23-12-08, BT Notice 38/08 covered it but I can't find a new notice to the same effect or any notice about an extension.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Thanks for that. Someone offered me the deal this afternoon, but when I rang back they could find no trace of it! I think I'm going to struggle to get it.

If you were offered the deal today, keep ringing back until you are offered it again! I believe that syko29793 works for BT, so we will watch with interest.

Did you get the name of the person who you were speaking with and know roughly the time of the call? If so ask them to check their recordings (most companies record calls).

you have to call 0800800880 and say £29.99 connection charge was offered to you and you would like to take this up. BT advisors cant offer you this unless you mention you saw it on bt price list.
  • We are talking here about a new build. Name another company that will provide service to a new build apart from BT or Cable.

And cable's only available in about 40% of homes anyway.

Just called BT using 0800 800 880 which takes you straight to Customer Options.

Spoke to a nice lady and explained that i wanted to "move from TalkTalk back to BT", she said thats fine no problem, took down my details and bank details, did a line check and said it would take 11 working days, they would do all the contacting with TalkTalk.

No mention of any £120 fee, so very happy indeed. just £11.50 monthly on the evening and weekend tariff 12 months contract

finally il be able to go to O2 Broadband! :T

    hope this helps
