New Boards... should we change stars?

Im in 2 mids not to bothered about the posts being counted but i like my stars. the sparkly stars idea is cute, could you not have it so it secretly counts posts but you cant see them and we just get stars as and when and then it will be a really nice surprise when we suddenly get another one

but then they could be done away with and i wouldnt be that bothered.

Or maybe the post count could be visible in Profile but not on general display?

I agree no need to change them. Unless you're going to give quality stars (clearly impossible) not quantity, they only mean time spent on the site posting.

Unless when you get over 10,000 you start again eh Traf?! ;D

I don't know if having two different types of stars together is possible. I think you can only have a single image repeatedly

e.g. the board has been told for 3 stars, use the star.gif image 3 times - there's no way to tell it to use two different images.

scratch what I've just said - I've just thought of a way - I think it's easily possible.

Just need to find/create "sparkley" stars ;D

just an idea

under our avatar could it note which board we post on most, something like

[glow=red,2,300]fave board MSA[/glow]

and then newbies could target people to ask advice from depending on which board they are most familiar with,

and keep post counts and star system the same,
although I like the sparkly star idea to carry on the rewards.
