Hi quick update egg have sent letter saying taking longer than expected I've given them till mid January.

Llyods tsb have acknowledged my letter.

Just off the phone to MBNA went through lots of questions about hubby self employed, was told that he could claim I said that it wasnt a suitable product as business would need to fold, also was told had lots of oppurtunities to cancel, said that wasnt our area of expertise knew we didnt want cover.blah blah, they have offered as gesture of goodwill £4727 I asked for interest they have offered £173, I said that I didnt believe that this was correct was told that £4727 was a lot to get refunded...... We've had the card since 1993. they are sending breakdown and if we dont agree we can go to the ombusdman.

Any suggestions.

Hi donotpassgo, if they have offered goodwill they would not offer for nothing so I would argue (if you want it all back) and then check their calculations and if you are not happy then of course go on to the FOS. It is a lot of money back but you also want it all back if they are in the wrong. Good luck

Hi Marshallka, thank you for your feedback. When I phoned they said they had been trying to contact us and that when I asked how long we had to consider offer the lady said tomorrow was the deadline? .I think they've been dragging their heels because of the amount. The lady had to keep speaking to someone else. Any
way she said she would send out a letter with the breakdown, so if you dont mind I'll post you their calculations.

just to bring you up to date, Eggs deadline was boxing day, a few days before Christmas we got a letter from Egg asking for some more time, we replied saying that we would be happy to give them to mid Jan. I have been checking our online account as some people have had their money credited to their account, anyway nothing happening on account. Anyway I thought it would be wise to check out our current account and to my absolute amazement we had been credited £7200 from Egg. :beer::j:j:beer:I haven't had any info about the breakdown yet this was originally an Egg credit card which we changed to an Egg loan so not sure if this repayment goes back to egg cc too. Will keep you informed.

For those just started this process take heart this is worth pursuing if missold this is your money that you should get back. You dont need good luck, use the MSE templates and ask for advice.

Hi there just to let you know i still havnt heard from barclaycard so ive just called them the young man i spoke to couldnt have been more helpful ,he couldnt understand why i havnt heard anything and said he would look into it and call me back in the next couple of days well he rang back within 10 mins and said he had spoke to ppi manager and it would be dealt with tommorrow . Well heres hoping its good news after all this time but im got my fos forms ready as as you have said before there seems to be no logic in how they decide Sunny
