My husband rang me earlier (I didn't answer) and left a huge abusive message on my answering machine. He says he doesn't want me back anyway, that he's been seeing someone else since I got pregnant with our son and that he was only ever here with me because I had somewhere secure for him to live. He also said that my son is a brat and his only regret is he didn't hit him sooner and harder. He said he hates children, never wanted any and isn't interested in access to the two babies until they are bigger as they are just demanding wee !!!!!! at the moment. So he has really shown his true colours big time.

Hopefully he is seeing somebody else and she will be stuck with him from now on. As for not wanting to see his own children; I am sure they will not lose out on such a mature and intelligent role model (not!). By the time he decides he ''cares'' they will be old enough not to care!

As much of a horrible shock as it seems now; he has done you a favour! You have found out today, not in five or ten years time what a loser he is and can use the time to sort you and all three of your children out.

I hope not..!. If he's like that then it won't be long before his new woman gets it. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

I'd play it for his mother..!!;)
  • His mother may well be dischuffed that he has virtually prevented her access to her grandkids, but that's another matter.

Make sure the police hear the recording, it is further damnation from his own mouth, also ask the phone company for a new number as he is abusive via the phone. Make sure the solicitor gets a copy of the recording too, as it is good evidence for getting him excluded. All these little pieces of evidence mount up.

I had a husband like him, but I was fortunate, the bar steward committed suicide.

    Cheers, HG

Hi Leila......what a horrible message to receive, but everybody above is so right. He has shown his colours, he has admitted the assault on your son, and has even shown his 'intent' by saying he should've done it sooner. There's no remorse there. The way he refers to the two younger children is just despicable - and as for the other woman......well, hopefully she wisens up to him (if she even exists) as any woman doesn't need a 'man' (for want of a better word!) like this. He has done you a huge favour though by leaving that message - make sure that it's given to the police as evidence, and one for the solicitor as well.
Logged on here tonight to see how you got on today - glad that you are seeing somebody and getting help from Women's aid - if nothing else, they understand what you have gone through, and they know the various stages of how you might feel at various times (though I imagine that the recording will help you get through the tough times just knowing how much better off you and the kids are now!). Best of luck to you :) Stay strong, and enjoy those kidlets :)

Leila, where abouts in Scotland are you? If you're in Glasgow you should call up Govan Law Centre, they provide free legal advice from qualified lawyers. Also Strathclyde Uni run a clinic where you get free advice from student lawyers but there is also a qualified lawyer there to make sure the advice is correct.
