Hello!
I was wondering if someone could confirm something for me.
I downloaded Windows Vista and the total size comes up to 3.2Gb. Is this correct? Because on Microsoft's website, they say the size comes to 3.5Gb?

I've downloaded it too (the 32bit) and already burned to dvd - it's showing as 3.12 GB, I think the 64bit version is larger.0

thank you danmanchester. I think my download is ok.
I want to use VMWare to install Windows Vista. However will it mess up my xp partition?0 -
I'm not familiar with VMWare so not sure - I'm putting Vista on another pc so i can test, tweak and experiment as I don't fancy having both XP and Vista in a dual boot on the same machine at once.0

thanks danmanchester! Really appreciated as I spent the last couple of days desperately trying to download Windows Vista on my 1mb connection and it took ages and ages.0

to download big files, use a download accellerator such as Download Accelerator Plus (DAP) which you can download from downloads.com. it will always give you 100% speeds.
BTW - ive been using vista for months now, and it is wonderful - the smaller taskbar at the bottom is nicely put together aswell as the side / top "bubble" barNever do things tomorow when you can do them today.0 -
Thank you mclaren. I will certainly give DAP a try. Just when I thought I had everything sorted for vista, i seem to have run out of DVD's! Typical!0

downloaded, installed, working very nicely although it does need 1 meg + of ram to go any faster than snails pace - everything installed fine except my TV card, which is a pain, but still trying to tweak and get it working :rotfl:0

Did you install as a clean format deebee? Or use the Windows Easy Transfer feature on the Vista disc?
I'm wondering whether to give it a try on this pc I'm using now because I've got 2gb ram or wait until I get some more memory for my other idle pc - that has just 512mb so will struggle with Vista.0 -
reply to Danmanchester
I took the option to update my existing XP version rather than overwrite, and oops I meant one Geg of ram in my previous posting - should rock with 2 Gegs :rotfl:0
