Oh thats really bad all those people with the Old XBox games cant play the old games on the new XBox console unless they buy a new Vista loaded PC is that correct?0 -
Can't see Vista a.k.a. code named longhorn being released when advertised.
I only use a theme from longhorn.
I like XP pro too much to even consider funding more buggy software from M$.
I will however buy a few cheap copies and then sell them in future years just like I did with that bad OPS windows millennium.0 -
I have a beta copy of vista from microsoft. Comes on dvd and requires 7GB to just install the basics.
GUI does seem to be based on/similar to MAC OS 10 in the way it functions. I haven't used it much as it's only on a test pc, the minimum spec is going to be quite beefy. Our test pc is only a 2.5Ghz celeron with 512MB ram and it does run a bit slow.
Comes wtih IE 7, Media Player 11 and Windows Defender.0 -
Sorry mate but you obviously dont have a legit Beta as it states on the readme file in the beta directory and on the beta e-mail you should have recieved the specs of the machines...
they are
Q. What is required to run Windows Vista?
A. If you purchased a PC in the last two years, chances are good that you can run Windows Vista today. To install and run the core functionality of Windows Vista, you need:
An 800 MHz processor
512 MB of RAM
A 20 GB hard drive with 15 GB of free space
Advanced features, like the new user experience Windows Aero, require advanced or additional hardware
If its running slow on the 2.5GHz pc then you are doing something wrong. Mine is fine on my old 900Mhz Laptop0 -

Its not a Genuine its a dud Ive never ever heard of Vista Beta as a download from MS, Unless you are a coporate Beta Tester for MS.
Edit: Lol, Its out there for msdn subscribers :doh:0 -
No, I know that Microsoft have sent out Disks to a select amount of people to test the Beta Version of Vista.
He clearly said that it was a disk that he received.0
