Hi!
Well I have manged to make the graphics card work but Aero will not work. According to Nvidia, I have to copy the driver files to Vista. I know which driver files I need and where to get them from on XP but I don't know where to put them in Vista. Any help?0 -

What format are the driver files in? Sometimes they're packed as an all-inclusive .exe file which you just double click and they install for you. Other times, they can just be bundled in a zip file with no installer and you have to unpack them to a temporary directory before you can do anything with them.
If the latter, dump them into c:\tempnvidia and then go into Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager and right click on your graphics card. You should have the option to "update driver". Select this and then you have to browse until you point to (in this case) c:\tempnvidia.
Vista will then work out what your card really is.You'll always miss 100% of the shots you don't take - Wayne Gretzky
Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.0 -

If that has little or no effect, you may need to (re)install your graphics drivers:- Go to this page and select your Operating System from the list.
- Download the driver package - via the link immediately below the word 'Version' - and the corresponding INF beside it; simply right-click and select Save Target As.
- Extract the contents of the package to an empty folder, then move the INF file into that folder, overwriting the original.
- Carry on as directed here.

as a rule of thumb, i never use a new OS until 8 months after its beta release - simply because, especially with Windows, other than professionals, all of you people will be stranded should something go wrong. After about 8 months all these bugs will (if not fixed with an update) have information on forums on the net which tell you how to fix it.
Vista will not be stable yet, and if it goes wrong, you will probably end up losing work and not having access to your computer for a while... at best.
Best off sticking with XP for the moment unless you really know what you're doing.0 -
Are you all using vista beta on test machines?0
