No, not just you!!!!! Dinner Tues night (will be on own) so far consisting of 1 leftover sausage in barbecue sauce, 1 spoonful of carrots, 1 of sweetcorn & 1 of broadbeans + scoop of mashed potatoes. Plus anything left over from tomorrow night's lasagne.... Think I will call it Tuesday Surprise (as in will be Surprised if I eat it!!!!   ) And at last i can use some of my freezer full of breadcrumbs on top!A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

June's been an absolute cr*p month for me so I'm glad we're nearing July! Just over the weekend, I've thrown out:
1/2 bag of potatoes - cooked on the BBQ and burned to a crisp by OH
1/2 bag of salad - bought reduced from T's Friday night and didn't use in time
4 slices of Wholemeal bread
But I have frozen:
1 Burger - not eaten at BBQ this weekend
3 Seeded Burger Buns - as above
4 sausages - can you see a pattern yet? lol
1 portion of mashed potato - not used up and would have normally chucked
Have I redeemed myself? lolIts nice to be important but more important to be nice!0 -

You can freeze mashed potato?? Now there's something I never knew. It's my ultimate favourite food as well (as she scuttles off to the kitchen to bulk cook mash!)
This week we have thrown away a manky, weepy spring onion (I see a trend in my weekly throwing out) and loads of milk that was still in date as it hit my tea this morning and went all into solid blobs, something not quite right there.
From my desk at work I am ashamed to say that an old bag of satsumas ended up as part of the "i've got the auditors coming during the week" cull. Sorry everyone.Debt Free Nerd No. 89, LBM: April 2006, Debt at highest (Sept 05): £40,939.96

According to OS you can Molanole, I've never done it before but have frozen cheese and potato pie before and thats always been scrummy when defrosted and cooked, so am taking a chance in that it will be ok! lol
Mmmmmmmmm mash :drool:Its nice to be important but more important to be nice!0 -
good thread
well I have fallen off the wagon and must admit I have had to put some eggs, cherries and grapes into the composter. Although beofre MSE they would have all gone into the bin but I reakon thats still £4.00 worth down the drain
I think I may have killed off my kefir and had to throw out some corned beef hash that my Nana sent round for me.
I have just made out a shopping list for tomorrow and my menu is back on the notice board, new start tomorrow:cool: Official DFW Nerd Club Member #37 Debt free Feb 07 :cool:0 -

You will 'need' (;) ) to add some butter to give it a nice creamy texture when defrosted. I don't eat it as potatoes - I use it as a topping & bake in oven. Extra butter makes it go all shiny yum yum, Tuesday's dinner sounding better by the mo!A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Quite a good week this week, food-wise. Nothing else has been good, I can tell you (birthdays, weddings, christenings, work collections... the list is endless). Managed to throw out only a couple of mouldy tomatoes, 2 black bananas and a soggy lettuce. The black bananas were a waste though- if I hadn't been so busy I could have made some lovely banana bread from them :-(Debt at highest May 2006: £27,472.24

For me it's always potatoes. Why is it that potatoes go green so much quicker than they ever used to. In the last monthwe've had to throw out three half bags away. Not happy!January budget
