I throw at least two pints a week away ( sometimes more). I only drink black coffee and rarely have cereal. DH and I both work full time and DD2 (the only one who still lives at home) hates milk!!!
I treat this as my charity!!!
Are you serious  Cor theres no way Id buy something just to keep someone in a job :beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Living next to open spaces...the wildlife I am sure are so grateful for any scraps/waste we give them instead of the bin...peelings and more go to the compost...Roses like bananas that are past it...epecially the skins.
I think most cannot help waste sometimes though even when your home 24/7 and keep a good eye on things in the fridge..there is always something that gets hidden or pushed to the back that you forget about...0 -
Haven't thrown out any food, but had to throw the microwave and several other kitchen things away as DD tried to set the house on fire by putting a pastie in the micro for too long!!!!:grouphug: Things can only get better.0

I used to throw loads away, but thankfully it's now very little, though I get annoyed if DS doesn't eat his dinner and that goes to waste.
This week - 1 cherry tomato that escaped it's punnet and got hidden and went yucky. That's it!
Was nearly half an onion going as well, but decided on cheese, onion and salad cream sandwiches for lunch to use it up! Delicious!
Think it's called getting better at being creative.Back on the DFW Wagon:

What is it about Spring Onions?? Loads of people seem to have thrown away spring onions - including me!!
Also thrown away some really old spinach and a quarter of a pepper which was oozing quietly in the fridge.... nice. I rotated all of the veg earlier though so should be able to make use of stuff before it goes too manky this week. Well, that's the plan anyway!Debt Free Nerd No. 89, LBM: April 2006, Debt at highest (Sept 05): £40,939.96

I try very hard these days not to let anything go yukky in the fridge i tend to freeze it or cook it with other ingredients and freeze but i have to say that this week i did throw out a cucumber which had hidden itself underneath everything else in the salad tray. I'm quite annoyed with myself really as i could of used it for something.0

Interesting thread!
Between the rabbit and the compost bin, I don't tend to throw that much food away nowadays.
Last week, I forced the family to have a roast dinner on Sunday even though it was a boiling hot day! Otherwise the joint would have been out-of-date and ended up being wasted.
I have got a banana that's sitting out going black and manky looking but that'll be going in the blender tomorrow along with some ice-cream to make a nice smoothie!0 -
A Whole Broccoli (!) that I had forgotten I had.
A quarter of a cucumber that had gone all squishy.
But into the compost, so not so much wasted as recylcled.
I'm so glad I started this composting lark, it reduces the guilt, when you throw food away.0
