I am absolutely terrible for wasting food I'm afraid....
Just yesterday I threw out:
An entire punnet of raspberries
4 slices of bread
A bunch of spring onions
New potatoes
3 slices of ham
2 slices of cheese
An egg
A tub of prawn cocktail
I've been on nights so this always happens just after my night shifts. I guess I need to learn how to shop for night shifts a bit better!PROUD TO HAVE DEALT WITH MY DEBTS0 -

    Shame on you tes, that would have bought some paint for your new house!!!!

One use for blackened bananas are muffins. They are so easy to make and taste fab too!MFiT-T2 No.350

Haha. This is another one of those "things that I thought only I did". I'm ashamed of the stuff we buy then just leave to go manky in the cupboard or fridge, but always assumed the rest of the world was too organised to do it and it was only my family that did it. I always got a "oh my god there's people starving in the world" everytime I found a potato that had started to sprout and had taken root in the panty...
We've started to do more regular, smaller shops now, so it doesn't happen as much
It's good to know that everyone does it though and that we're not the only wastrels0 -
fab thread, we in this house waster far too much food. I struggle with this daily.
half a lettuce
WW ready meal past by use by date
rotten tomato
3 x over ripe peaches
1 glass of homemade smoothie that one of the kids didn't like
hope this helps me not to wasteOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 102

I was in hospital for a week unexpectedly, and came home to find things living in my fridge.......so threw out a mouldy fruit salad that I had made the night before I went in, a carton of cream and one of creme fraiche.
What I can't understand is that my OH is the tidiest man alive, to the point of being obsessive. He tidies the kitchen at the same time as cooking in it, he folds the towels immediately after using them, he plumps up the cushions on the sofa every day. But for some reason, once something is hidden behind the fridge door....well, it could stay there for a year and it wouldn't occur to him to throw it out!0 -
Milk is my problem. I have milk delivered - one pint a day. I know it is cheaper in the Supermarket but I would not like to see the milkman out of a job and also there a lot of older people who use the milkman for other supplies besides milk.
I throw at least two pints a week away ( sometimes more). I only drink black coffee and rarely have cereal. DH and I both work full time and DD2 (the only one who still lives at home) hates milk!!!
I treat this as my charity!!!0 -

I see the throwing away of two pints of milk and I hear in my head the magic words....'make rice pudding with it instead'.....before it goes off, obviously...0
