Just got back from morrisons - picked up a bottle of Bollinger! So they do have them here and there! I got 2 bottles on Sunday as well!

    Morrisons current offers:
Veuve Clique (sp) is on offer at £24 ish. £7 off.
Lanson rose on offer for about £25
Moet Rose on offer for £30 i think comes in a pink cool bag
VIntage moet on offer as well £30? I think

Can't quite remember the prices but they are roughly that!
    Hope that helps!
  • Has anyone elso noticed that since the offer started Morrisons for Moet and Bollinger Champagne that have not stocked either brand? I have even contacted friends in Edinburgh some 140 odd miles away and their local branches don't have any in stock either. I have travelled 26 miles round trip three times this week to get the offer and each time I get there they have either sold out or haven't had any in stock. What is the point in having an offer of brilliant value if they are not going to make provisions for high sales. The other thing Morrisons are really bad for is having an offer of eg 3 for £5 and only having two on the shelf or worse one. What is the point.

For anyone who's going to France before Christmas, there do seem to be some very good deals at Carrefour:

    Canard Duchene EUR 15.96
    Nicolas Feuillatte EUR 13.68
    Mercier EUR 15.60
    Mercier rose EUR 20.24

Plus discounts on some demi-sec (sweeter) champagnes that you don't really see in the UK. Even if you reckon 1 EUR = 1 GBP these are good prices. But of course not everything is cheaper eg Lanson reduced to 23.92 which is still more than recent offers.
  • I've tried to take advantage of Morrisson's so called "grande Marque" Champagne deal; - a number of times whilst their offer was on.

I have NEVER found a bottle of either Moet or Bollinger in store.

If I've arrived in the evening, they've told me to get in early in the morning because they're sold out. When I 've arrived as they're opening, there is still none to be had, and when I've asked, there's "none in the warehouse".

I think this is a purely a marketing con on the part of Morrisons.

On the other hand, when Sainsbury advertised £14.00 Lanson champagne, there were lots in and I managed to buy 6 ( with 5% discount) - and I wish I had bought lots more - as they loads of stock. (Thank you Sainsbury's - we have drunk it all and it was delicious!!).

So good on you Sainsbury's and Morrison - now you know why I NEVER shop at your store. I had a full trolley load of goods when I went in to buy it - but when I realised you had no champagne - I left it all ( about £70 worth) in store without completing any purchase.

I managed to get a bottle of Moet last Tuesday in the Halifax store for £14.39..... They had a couple of bottles in, but the price wasn't on the shelf? I had to check the price with the checkout lad to make sure it was the discounted price.

    EM xx

    Plato ;) Make £2018 in 2018 no. 37 - total = £1626.25/£2018 :j
  • I was wrecking my brain over what champagne to buy. I'd been browsing online all day and forgot to check in here first. Now I have missed all the offers at Morrison's... I am a fan of Nicolas Feuilatte (which is a CM: Coop!rative de manipulation). :::sob sob:::

    Now my choices are:
Sainsbury's Blanc de Noirs Champagne Non Vintage Brut 75cl £15 (25% off 6 bottles)
(winner of IWC's Great Value Champion Sparkling 2009)
Tesco Finest Premier Cru NV £14.23 (£85.38 per case)
(IWSC Silver Best in Class 2009, Decanter Bronze 2009)
ASDA Extra Special Vintage Champagne 2002 £18.98 (no discount?!)
(IWSC Silver 2009, IWC Silver 2009, Decanter Silver 2009)
Taittinger at Tesco £20.90 a bottle (£125.40 per case)

I really wanted to get Taittinger - I'd been to their cave this summer, may be it was a hot day, may be they were truly good but my family and I agreed that they served the best out of the three caves we visited - other two being Moët and Mercier. But at the same time I have some grudge against the large champagne houses such as the ones run by LVMH (Moët & Chandon, Dom P!rignon, Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin, Krug, Mercier, and Ruinart) as these are N!gociant manipulant - they don't grow their grapes, they buy the grapes, sometimes even buy the wine and only do the second fermentation. These large champagne houses have really squeeze the grape growers to inflate their own profit margins and try to bankrupt the grape growers (and then seize their vineyards). If you buy fair trade chocolates, fair trade coffees, you wouldn't buy the "Grande Marque"... anyway, with this consideration I think I will eliminate Taittinger from the list.

That leaves Sainsbury (Soci!t! Coop!rative De Producteurs Des Grands Terroirs De La Champagne), Tesco (Union Champagne in Avize, have their own vineyards) and Asda (Chanoine Freres, unsure if they buy or grow grapes). I have decided that I'll pop down to Sainsbury first and see what I can find.

(Apologies to all - for writing a "talking to myself" post...)

Anyone know of any offers on Champagne (or a very good sparkling) that can be used as presents - looking up to about £15 a bottle?
Aim to win in 2013 - a holiday somewhere nice, New York break, treats for family & friends & some cash would be lovely!!!

Not sure if you think that for a present it needs to be a "brand name" champagne, but the Sainsburys own brand Blanc de Noirs champagne, which beat most of the big name brands in a taste test, is currently reduced from £16.99(?) to £15 - and Sainsburys also has 25% off wine when you buy 6 or more bottles of any wine, taking the per bottle price down to £11.25. The 25% discount ends TODAY so you'd better be quick about it if you're interested...

(It's a good-looking bottle too, with a black label. I do think that matters more when it's a gift.)
