Aldi do a bottle of "Brut" Champagne for a tenner - no idea what it tastes like.

Champagne must be the ultimate in clever branding by the French, who 100 years ago were considered to produce inferior wines to the Germans.

I am willing to bet that the great majority of my friends in a blind tasting, could tell the difference between a cheap champagne and a fizzy wine made by the "methode Champaignoise" in Australia or New Zealand.

Bargain Booze are selling French Connection champagne for £9.99 - the same stuff Morrisons were "selling" at £25.99!

Don't fall for most of the half price offers. A bottle of cheap champagne is a bottle of cheap champagne.

Buy yourself a decent cava or prosecco instead, you get the cork popping, you get the fizz.

M&S are advertising their cases of Oudinot champagne at 50% off on the website but the discounted price is not showing. I had to ring up and customer services adjusted the price on my order. I paid £59.40 plus £3.50 delivery for 6 bottles. The rose is also advertised 50% off but is a bit more expensive.

3% also through quidco.
