  • i don't think you'r supposed to use fabric conditioner on them. the lady in the shop told me to wash by hand and no fab con ever

As soon as you purchase them, add a few reinforced stitches at both sides where the wire pops out from.

I have that problem and they dig in and hurt like hell - have been known to whip a wire out and bin it when out on the town if one has decided to BURST through at that time.
Good job I am tiddly though as I have one well raised, under wired boob and tother one hitting my knee cap. :D

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Know that scenario well!!!

I have this trouble too, it always seems to be my right boob, in fact my right one is slighly smaller than the left:rotfl: how do I get round this one then:confused: Now I feel a right tit:rotfl: :rotfl:

  • Hi
I second the corsetier fitting. M&S are notorious for fitting wrongly. I hand wash mine now. I did machine wash in a bag ( after a wire came out in the machine and cost a lot to get out !) then a couple got stuck between the rubber seal in the door and the drum and the material rubbed right through.

Okaaaayyy.... Am I really posting this?

I have managed, somehow, to bust what feels like my billionth underwired bra by having th wire poke out of the side

I'm fed up of spending money out on the darned things to find they either poke me under the armpit all day and hurt like made by lunchtime, or after a while the wiring feels the need to break free! :rotfl:

Anyone know how I can fix my broken bra 'strongly' and comfortably, and what they heck am I doing wrong when I guy them?

I get measured often in M&S and La Senza and have mentioned about being poken all day while having the fitting, but get really odd looks.

Why do I break so many too? I wash them in the machine and not by hand, but then everyone I've asked washes theirs in the machine and have no problems

    Heeeellllpppp!

You get this problem most of the time with Washing Machines and tumble dryers... the reason for this is that the tip of the underwire bit is covered in plastic to prevent it poking into your boob. When it gets bunged in the washing machine or tumble dryer at too higher a temperature the bobbly plastic bit on the end melts and/or becomes mishapen.... This means that eventually it works it's way through to your *errrrm* boob! So maybe try doing your bras on a lower heat as per the washing label instructions?

Saying that, everything my end gets thrown in a 40degree wash and it doesn't get tumble dried and i've not had a problem since i stopped tumble drying my bras!

    Hope that helps

  • I have the same trouble, made even worse by being an odd size (38A), which means out of all the thousands of bras in M&S there are usually only 2 in my size and they're always black or navy, so no good for all my white T-shirts :rolleyes:Before I had 3 kids and breastfed them all I could get away without a bra but now they flap about a bit IYKWIM:rotfl:
  • i'd go an get measured at bravissimo (https://www.bravissimo.com) - they have really well trained people and i found that i got really well fitting bras which were a completely different size to high street shop suggestions.

i always stick my bras in the machine - always in a delicates bag though. but if they are uncomfortable when they're new, then it may just be the fit rather than the machine.
    :happyhear
  • You shouldn't be uncomfortable. ::(: If you find yourself in London treat yourself to a trip to these guys - they really know thier stuff

If you are being poked is you cup size too small? Have you tried going up a cup size and down a back size?

I too wash all my underwire bras in the washing machine on a wool wash and never had any trouble. Maybe it's the um... tension while wearing that weakening them.

Thanks guys. For number one making me realise I'm not the only woman this happens to, and for the suggestions. The washing machine/tumble dryer melting the rubber end does make sense you know..? Good job I've stoppe using mine (albeit for frugal reasons! lol)

Scarey thought going up a cup soze as I'm already a DD and struggle to find decent bras where I usually shop.

LOL about removing the wiring in the town. I've ben known to do that too, but thankfully ages ago when I was a B/C and they were at a stage where they held themselves up anyway! :rotfl:

My machine does have a gentle wool wash, so I'll start to use that only, religiously for my bras now.

Thinking of the descriptions of the cup size people have said about, it almost feels like the wiring is too deep (or should that be high up?) and maybe that's a symptom of wrong cup size...

I don't think my style helps as I only like to wear Balcony style and guess that may be a 'bad' style for wiring stabs?

I work and live in London, so will try Rigby and Pello.. that's the Dawn French ad isn't it... "there's bra's, and bra-ha-haaaaa's"

Cheers for being your usual lovely supportive selves girls. What the heck must the men MSE'ers be thinking??
