Hello everyone,
Just wanted to post as i've had a fab discovery thanks to Kandee Johnson the makeup artist on You Tube. Sorry if this has already been mentioned. I have spent quite alot of money over the years on eye-makeup remover and cleansing wipes, makeup remover etc. To save money, I recently started using Boots own brand eye-makeup remover and Johnsons baby wipes to remove my makeup (this is an evening routine which I then follow with washing my face and moisturising). However, I started to break out in spots sooner after and my eye's were not getting as clean. Then I discovered kandee's home-made eye-makeup remover!

All it is is witch hazel and oil mixed together! I use 50 % oil to 50 % witch hazel (Kandee recommends olive oil but I use vitamin E oil and you can probably use your oil of preference). Put it in a bottle, shake and apply to a cotton pad. The eye make-up slides right off so easily! I use it all over my face to remove make-up even though she didn't say to. I have also found that doing the same with Glycerin and Rosewater works too.
Definitely moneysaving and has benefitted me and my skin so much!0 -

A cheap and effective alternative to the expensive vitamin c serums:
Mix 5 g of powdered vitamin c /ascorbic acid/ with 30 ml of purified or spring water and apply to skin with a brush or fingertips.
Boosts collagen synthesis, minimizes wrinkles and age spots, increases sun resistance, makes skin glowing, etc.Healthy beautiful hair - hair care tips and advices0 -

I've just run out of face wipes and have spend the past quarter of an hour trying to get rid of my eye makeup with soap and water - unsuccessfully!
Does anyone know an alternative that I could have used with products around the house?
I always use bit of baby oil on cotton wool to remove eye makeup. It lasts for ages as you don't need much.
I also use baby oil instead of expensive creams and gels to use when shaving my legs. It gives a really smooth shave and also leaves my legs very soft!0 -
If your skin is prone to feeling dry, try applying some glicerine with water half in half about 15-20 minutes before your day cream and make up. It works for me.0

I have a tip I still do it. If you want to smoothen your hair you can try to use coconut milk. Apply the coconut milk all over the scalp and massaging it into the hair roots. Let it stay there for about an hour and you can go for shampooing. Some people find that it is also beneficial in the treatment of hair loss. It nourishes the hair and promotes hair growth.0

The type of oil applied makes a difference too, as much as I remember, sesame could be used by anyone but by all means, if you like the smell of cocounut - that would be beneficial for you!0 -
Oh no - I've got my first age spot (on cheekbone)! Easy to cover, but I wondered if anyone could recommend a product to fade it?
I have tried using one from No 7 but I used it for 4 weeks and saw little difference (if any).
It needs to be a reasonable cost (something home made would be nice !)
Anyone know something they could recommend?
Lemon juiceI posted about it a couple of nights ago and it's fabulous for fading marks and spots.
Never argue with an idiot; they'll bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.0 -

I tried that too, using the witch hazel and olive oil. It works superbly, even taking waterproof mascara off completely - but it made my eyes sore and blurred my vision for hours afterwards.
Might try the glycerin and rosewater version, though. Perhaps that won't have the same effect.0
