    Keep the faith.
Dont give up hope...She needs you to keep on looking.
I lost mine twice, once for three days, once for four.
Firts time she was in my own garage, traumatised by anoisy delivery of coal into the bunker.
second time, shut in a neighbours shed. Id been told by a third party that someone had seen a dead cat lying on the road near my house so i had stopped looking.
I almost refused to go and check my neighbours shed saying whatever she heard it couldnt be my cat because she was dead!

    Hi,

Iv'e been following your thread and really hoped Missy would have returned. She still could and hard as it is in this miserable weather you must try and stay positive. I know your doing all the right things, she could just be hiding somewhere and out of earshot of you. Do call her name when your out, she will recognise your voice and perhaps take some biscuits in a container and shake them.

I truly understand your predicament as my girl Molly went missing 3 1/2 months ago and has never returned. She is elderly and as time passes I lose hope i'll ever see her again. It's not knowing which is the torture. You just don't know if they have come to harm, somone has taken them or they are lost. I'm not telling you about my story to upset you in any way. Just to let you know I understand how desperate you feel and I sincerely hope Missy returns home soon.

Do you have a lost and found section in a local paper?
That worked once when we found a dog...oddly we advertised it as found the same day the owner put one in saying it was lost.

I hope she comes home soon...they do that.

  • Hi Leah,

I'm sure your darling will come back. If its any consilation my cat went missing last year, I put up posters everywhere and put ads up all over the internet but had no luck.. then 10 months later a lady who lived less than a mile away saw my ad on the National Missing Pets Register and emailed me saying shes been feeding a stray that looks like my cat for the past several months. I went to her house and yep it was my missing cat!! There was a railway in between our streets so he must have been too scared to come back across. Of course I'm praying your kittie comes back alot sooner than that!! but it is very likely shes fine and just keeping out of the cold. Keep us updated :-)

Thanks everyone. Still no news, I've been to the retail park at lunch time to put posters up. Everyone is being really supportive but still haven't even had one positive sighting which is worrying.
I have put a lost ad in the paper which will run for 7 days for free & registered her as missing on every possible website I can think of. I've also been searching for "found" ads just in case & have been terrorising the animal shelters daily to see if she has been brought in. Thinking of giving out a few flyers when the binmen come around as well.

It really is heartbreaking not knowing where she is, I would be happy just to know she was safe & dry. I will keep updating as Im determined not to give up on her, there are so many heartwarming stories of people who's pets come back so it gives me hope. Im not going to give up, will be out with my torch again when I finish work - wish me luck!

Whack her on here http://www.animalsearchuk.co.uk/index.php ...and read the stories in the news section ..they show that there's no reason to give up.

Wow dollface, thats a long time but a fab ending to your story just hope I don't have to wait that long!
Thanks timmers - have already put her on there.

Went to asda and they wouldn't put the poster up but went around the back to the delivery bit & they said they often get strays in there so would put it up round the back for all the workers to see. The back bit faces my house anyway so that would probably be her first port of call.

A friend saw a rat near our bins earlier which is where I put her food last night so will have to try somewhere else tonight & have emptied my hoover bag in front of the house so maybe she'll smell it and find her way back.

Im determined though, I mean a cat can't just disappear off the face of the earth so either someone thought she was stray & is looking after her or she'll come home soon looking for food.

Think positive....she has not been found dead so she must be alive!
Ok...and here is my happy story.
6 years ago one of mine wemt missing. I did all the things you have done but after a couple of weeks hope faded and I became more reconciled.
Now at the time I had a job which brought me home around 2am 2 nights a week. One night I got out of the car and thought I heard a Murphy meow. I walked around and called out...then saw a strange cat slink away. Oh well.
Maybe 2 weeks later I again heard that same meow, very distinctive. Again I walked around the street calling and looking. The cries drew me to a neighbours house where I could clearly hear a cat responding to me...from the air brick ventilation under the house. I called his name...he called back
I hardly slept that night and counted the minutes till 9am the next morning when I went to knock on my neighbours door to explain that my cat was UNDER HER FLOOR BOARDS. She was an elderly lady, clearly thought I was absolutely crazy, deaf as a door post so could not hear the meaows, but did let me in to her house. I called out and heard that same faint meow again. So now i had to convince her to let me pull up her floor boards, she laughed in disbelief then sat down with a fag to watch me. I pulled up a board, reached a hand in and pulled out a very skinny dusty Murphy!
6 weeks he was missing, right across the road from me. Lord knows how he got under there, thankfully he had always been a good mouser and was right as rain after a few good big meals.
    Don't give up!!!
