Defrosting cauliflower soup for lunch and took out a HM Tomato sauce to defrost for tea and have with pasta, olives and cheese.
Taking a tip from Penny and will use the frozen salmon in a fish pie as it sounds more bearable in that - try it at the weekend

Pork Chops out of the freezer for tonights tea.
Realised how much fruit I have in the freezer ready for chutney making - must get on with that as have a fundraiser in 2 1/2 weeks and I have to get them done for then (this will empty the freezer of 3lb Rhubarb, 2lb Plums and a tub of red peppers).
Have some apples in the fruit bowl that need using up and I think I might use them to make a pie for my Dad instead of chopping and freezing them.
Supposed to be making the frozen veg soup tonight, but this morning has been hectic at work and it will all depend on how tired I am when I get home.
Also have tub of frozen stewed plums and apples which I did a couple of weeks ago - intend to make a crumble on Sunday to take down to OH's parents for dessert. (This will also take a tin of custard out of the cupboard too!) woo hoo!
Its going quite well at the moment, only spent £10.58 on groceries this week (my week runs from Thurs - Wed) - but you never know when some thing will throw a spanner in the works.Mortgage Free x 1 03.11.2012 - House rented out Feb 2016

I am not doing very well on this challenge and have managed to spend a shocking £126 on food since the 27th October:eek:
I have only stuck to my meal plan about half the time, it's a good plan using lots of stuff but I am struggling to find the time or energy (preggers) to cook from scratch every night or do a big batch cooking session. I haven't thrown stuff out so there is still a lot of veg in the fridge that I must do something with.
I have about £15/week left for food and would rather spend much less as I want to save as much as possible for when bambalino arrives:D
Tonight's tea will be the last of a bag of frozen potato croquettes, vege/pork sausages, frozen green beans, boiled carotts and gravy. Leftover cake and ice cream for pud.
Tomorrow we will have fish/quorn escallope, mushy peas and HM wedges. Jelly and ice cream for pud:p
I will need to get another bag of spuds and spread this week but that is it(famous last words:o).
I keep avoiding listing my stocks (more cupboard stuff than freezer stuff) but I may have to do so and ask you guys for some help coming up with something interesting.

I had to go to the farm shop becuase I needed layers pellets, corn and potatoes.
I did not need two packs of stewing beef, one of mince and some of their very lovely ham. Whoops.
On the positive side we finished off the remains of sundays chicken as risotto, and the boys had chicken nugget n chips from the freezer as a treat.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -

well the pork wasn't defrosted enough, so we had cheese toasties for tea  and I treated myself to a prawn mayo sandwich & a packet of crisps from the Co-op for lunch (we'll over look the caramel doughnut from the bakers
) and paid for it using vouchers I got through the other day - I even got some change
I'm off down to the Asda for the weekly shop consisting of bread (sliced ones - home made doesn't like out toast and keep catching no matter how I cut it), probiotic drinks , kitchen roll & a tin of chocolates for Christmas
:j Will look at the reduced bits as well, but I dont' NEED anything else :T:j

well I had a good look in my freezer yesterday and it is practically empty:j:j:j:j
But since freezers are more economic when full...................................:D
I am NOT going to fill it up though:A
Took out mince for meatballs tomorrow, no doubt half of them will need to be frozen when cooked though, since it was a 800g? pack and since only me and DD here :rotfl::heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0 -

Oh my - didn't realise all the typos!! So sorry! lol.
Anyway - we are currently making a carrot soup so there is half the carrots gone. :rotfl:
I also found 2 frozen spelt loaves at the back of the freezer so defprosted one to dip in the soup.
The soup makes 4 servings - but there are only 2 of us so do you think we can freeze 2 portions? xDream of being mortgage free....

you could do a cheese sauce with the cream cheese and serve with the pasta and make a mexican type sauce with the jalapenos peppers and enchilado sauce and serve with the brown rice
maybe a veg casserole?
I am a bit new to this myself but am sure you will get lots of useful suggestions on here
good luck
Thank you for your help
As I mentioned above we made a very nice carrot soup today - with enough leftover to freeze for another day!
Tomorrow we are going to try to make a cheese & mushroom sauce to serve with pasta for our lunch and for tea....drumroll please.....
we are going to try to make a curry out of the coconut milk, peppers and various herbs and serve it with brown rice and carrot fritters! :T
This is quite fun actually
