Think I will do this as well. My freezer has been rammed for some time. To put leftovers in I have to take something else out - usually whatever is at the top. Will organise myself later.

    Good thread

Oh I so need to do this!!

Trouble is I keep seeing reduced stuff when I go for fresh fruit and veg or milk and it gets filled up again. Not sure I could bear to walk past........

My chest freezer is so full I can't get anything else in...and it's really hard finding things as it means taking loads of stuff out first. I so ought to join in with this...but am finding it very hard to get motivated to do anything. Perhaps tomorrow...

I need to do this. We're emigrating in July so have to empty the freezer. Will have to get in gear and make a list rather than just scratching the top and finding nothing but frozen peas!

    Hi All

Have decided to combine emptying the freezer with trying to avoid visiting the supermarket for the month of May. Have decided to try to cook with the freezer contents in mind for every meal.

Does anyone want to join me?

  • LIke evil witch I am emigrating this yr, Hopefully in October, I will post my freezer list later, but I have had a list on the front of the fridge for over 3 months now, been updating it and trying to get it down ( it's mahoosive) but failing badly. I have been much too tempted by whoopsies, maybe posting in here will help. I know I have at least 50 meals in there for the two of us :( and thats not including whats in the cupboards. It simply has to go as throwing stuff out when I move would be heartbreaking.

I have found a bag of med chargrilled veg in the bottom of the chest freezer and was thinking of doing a lasagne with it. It was cheap at Aldi!

But do you think I need to cook it first or just make the lasagne and then cook it whole? just going to layer with chopped toms and put grated cheese on top as i am doing slimming world.

    Thanks

Mmm, that sounds yummy! Do you still use mince, or is the veg/tomatoes in place of meat?

Not sure about cooking it first, sorry. It might go mushy if overcooked, but then again it might go mushy if not cooked!

    There we go.

This week we are having sandwiches for lunch or left overs, using the sandwich meat then the sausages.
We are having/have had in no particular order: baked pots with smoked salmon and sour cream (salmon was a new addition due to being on a fab offer in Mr T :o), pie and wedges, seafood risotto, chicken tortillas (HM), sausage, stuffing and puff pastry lattice (HM), mince cobbler, plus assorted veggies and salad.

Sadly, at least 2 of the things on my list are new to the freezer this week :-S .

Ooh and I made mango cobbler yesterday, but that's storecuboards and that's another list/thread all together :-S
