Try googling "Jamie Oliver grapes" and see what pops up!
Cheers Essex Hebridean, apparently its well know by the world just not me that you can indeed freeze grapes and its as simple as just putting them in, found some rave reviews on http://www.deliciousdays.com/archives/2005/05/07/cool-grapes/
And also giving the citrus grape cake receipe a whirl http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/7608/citrus-grape-cake
who'd have thought I could put them to such good use, usually they'd just end up in the bin... I love this not wasting marlarky :j :j :j
Update 21.53pm 29/12/2008
The grape cake is yummy and so easy to make. I did substitute the olive oil for grape oil though as its all I had in the cupboard and it still worked. The rest of the grapes have gone into the freezer....0 -
Evening all!
Am declaring Dec at £449.77 against a budget of £450!! Just scraped in - but this spend includes a couple of takeaways and some spends on DDs birthday - and £25 on a free range turkey - so I'm pleased with that! Freezers still pretty full and plenty of milk and bread to last next few days :-)
Right - off to Jan thread now - will figure budget out first

Hi all,
I've just spent 40 mins in my kitchen writing down what's in there foodwise.
Any ideas what to do next? I'm going to type up the list so i can see it clearly in sections (sounds a bit sad i know but i want a clear overview of what i have because it's got to last a month), is there a thread anywhere where others have posted their inventories and updated as the month goes on?0 -
Probably too late but just wanted to say frozen grapes are lovely. I saw them on the Jamie Oliver programme and didn't get as far as the chocolate and grappa so put them alongside a rich dessert and they were great. Put some more in today!0

Thanks for the grapes thingy! I'm going to buy some tomorrow to try that, they look so pretty and I love grapes!
I'm going to make a list of the food we've got in tomorrow so I can plan some meals, I'm not doing any shopping (apart from bread/milk/veg and probably a bit of fresh meat) until 1st Feb! Think happy & you'll be happy
I :heart2: my doggies

We had leftover pizza today, not one that's been re-heated but one that's been freshly baked with leftover toppings. The dough was made from store cupboard flour, oil, sugar, salt and yeast and the toppings were:
1/3 tin sweetcorn
1/2 pack pepperoni
1/2 tin anchovies
some OOD mozzerella
some OOD parmesan
some past their best mushrooms
1/2 tin tomatoes
a small onion
It was yum.
Tomorrows tea will be something created from a portion of bacon bits from the butchers (the scraps from her home made pigs in blankets. I've got a few mushrooms and some cream cheese left over so I may use them with some pasta.0 -

Mine's here (first 2 posts on that page). I've just updated it and will be joining in on emptying my freezer once we're all back at school and work
