Jeez and I thought my cupboards/freezers were bad !

I think all the 'OS'ers will be coming round to your house for tea Turkolina!!:D:D:D
I'm rubbish at meal-planning at the moment....but some-one will be along to give you loads of suggestions soon I bet!

I think maybe you need to have a challenge to use it all up and NOT replace it! Maybe you can post what you've used each day and we can watch it go down :rotfl:0

Hi turkolina,
Wow! That should keep you going for ages! I've added your thread to the existing store cupboard challenge where the regulars will be able to give you lots of tips on using it up.

Does all of this fit inside your kitchen? If so, then you must have loads of kitchen cupboards!
My cupboards are always jam-packed and I have stuff stored in boxes/baskets on top of the cupboards, Recently I've also started storing things in our spare bedroom:o . My DH thinks I'm a bit OCD and he could be right! :rotfl:0 -

Bl**dy ell, Turkolina. That's a lot of food. But you got me thinking: will do the same, cos I did a 'big shop' "for a month" but I think I can get 2 months out of it if I'm clever.
My storecupboard meal last night (using the oldie but goodie, Madhur Jaffrey)
Rice cooked in stock with an equal quantity of moong dal, with spices (I have a vast quantity of basmati rice, and a good supply of dried and tinned pulses): the spices used were a bit random, eg, fennel seeds instead of cumin seeds, and the end of some goan spice mix instead of garum masala but it worked and provided a good protein component for the meal
Mushroom and potato curry, which also had a tin of tomatoes in it; the potatoes were two baked potatoes I had stashed in the freezer from last saturday, and I made the ginger/garlic paste using chopped ginger from the fridge and garlic puree
We also used a packet of chapattis that were in the cupboard.
It was really yummy, which was good cos I think DH is dubious about my plan to eat vegetarian 2-3 times a week.Mortgage started on 22.5.09 : £129,600Overpayments to date: £3000June grocery challenge: 400/6000 -
Well its taken me 3 days with 6 month DD to do the itinerary in the kitchen and i'm stunned by the amount of stuff I have. I thought that i would need £200 for me and hubby this month but Im determined that i won't even spend £100 and even less if possible.
What do you reckon this is the list of inside the kitchen.
