Were you credit checked izools? If so, how many searches do you already have on your file?

They say they were going to search me but I ordered an EQ file update just after they increased my limit and no sign of a soft or full search :)

I have 12 searches in the last 6 months on EQ.

Am i right in saying it is not a good idea in having 2 credit card accounts with the same company.

    No.

As long as you have another card elsewhere atop the 2+ you have with the same company it's all good :o

I think I may give Flybe a call and request an increase. My Silver will be getting closed once a payment has been cleared.

Yeah see what your saying izools, but surely having different cards it would be easier doing balance transfers,as you cant do balance transfers for each card with the same card provider.

This is from Sygma on the 23/6/2010, so they did do a soft search on me when i asked for an increase.

Yeah, basically you've been referred, it's better than a decline. I always get declined by Aqua. Try ringing them up and see if they've looked at it yet.
  • wont want to do it just yet but will sygma be better?

I'm guessing you need to be squeaky clean for a sygma card then ?, But can't say that Ive heard of them much.
    And good evening seeya23 :).

Yeah "better" in so much as better APR and potential for repeat offers / limit increases, but of course the pass mark will be higher so if you've got any adverse credit they'll view this more negatively than Aqua, who expect applicants to have adverse history.

Don't have to be squeaky clean, they're more lax than other prime cards, but certainly still stricter than the likes of Vanquis, Capital One Classic, and Aqua.

As long as you've not missed any payments in one year +, don't have any outstanding defaults and any you do have are 3+ years old and don't have a bonkers number of previou searches they should be happy to give a card :o
