I had a look at Zebra Finance and it says it is an interest bearing loan over 10 months. No mention of the APR

To make it even easier for fans to pay for their season tickets, the club have signed a deal with Zebra Finance, who work with a number of Premier League clubs on similar ventures, meaning supporters will be able to spread the cost of their ticket over six months.

The deal is based on guaranteed acceptance to ensure it is as accessible as possible may go for it on

Sorry to potentially be the bearer of bad news, but I highly doubt it's guaranteed acceptance unless you put down some whacking great deposit (which then makes the whole thing rather pointless). I know other clubs that use Zebra and they certainly aren't guaranteed acceptance, and they make a point of saying it's the credit issuer (Zebra) that decides who is accepted, as they take on the financial risk rather than the football clubs.

I hope it is, but I really wouldn't get too excited as I know others aren't, and guaranteed acceptance seems too good to be true - it's got to be subject to meeting some criteria

And yea, guaranteed or not I'd be wary of the APR, they may do a Vanquis type thing and give you some stupidly high rate if you haven't got a good credit record....

Just my opinion, but I wouldn't take out a contract for a friend.

There are plenty examples of folk on these forums who've helped out friends (and even family) only to be shafted when the times got tough. If you're seriously considering it, maybe think about:
    1. Asking Vodafone to cap the usage at £xx (not 100% sure if they can do this)
    2. Ensure that you have a written agreement with the friend in case it all goes pear shaped
Some might argue that the second suggestion is a little confrontational. I'd argue that it's essential as there would be few things worse than having your credit history impaired as a young student (just assuming you're young-ish, no offence intended :)).

My mate once took a contract out for me (he got the phone I got the SIM Card) it was over 18 months, (this was Jan 2009) - in September 2009 I found myself being accepted for T-Mobile, so I used mine instead, but continued to pay his until Jan of this year when he said we were sorted (i.e he was happy to take over payments).

I myself would never screw over a good mate who was decent enough to trust me, however I do understand there are people that will - unintentional or not!

I got two of those Bank of Cyprus emails. Luckily I didn't send the £10 again as I was declined.

Exactly, that's pretty good of your mate to take over the payments too, but equally good of you to keep up with them. I mean he could use the SIM or whatever, but he didn't have to, could've got a retention deal and forced you to keep paying.

I can't believe she's been declined, I'm assuming she's not on the ER or something, or her lack of credit means they don't want her. O2 only took me after a massive deposit, and that was after being on the ER and having a credit card (albeit with limited payment history)
