Just my opinion, but I wouldn't take out a contract for a friend.

There are plenty examples of folk on these forums who've helped out friends (and even family) only to be shafted when the times got tough. If you're seriously considering it, maybe think about:
    1. Asking Vodafone to cap the usage at £xx (not 100% sure if they can do this)
    2. Ensure that you have a written agreement with the friend in case it all goes pear shaped
Some might argue that the second suggestion is a little confrontational. I'd argue that it's essential as there would be few things worse than having your credit history impaired as a young student (just assuming you're young-ish, no offence intended :)).

I think they can cap it, its Vodafone Retail though (thru Voda shops) that do this - the small print on my SIM only contract says this.

Thanks, that is true I agree. Capping is probably the best option, at a limit she'd never reach unless she was taking the mick.... And yea I am young, 18 still, so that and being a student means I get pretty much nothing myself!!
Can I just add my contracts are for wifey and 2 kids plus me..... not random people. lol

    Good advice Edinburgher
Haha, yea I understand. I mean I trust her not to run up massive bills etc, plus on the type of tarrif she'd be on it would take some epic usage to get anywhere near the max let alone top it significantly!

Would the network's protection not kick in if the bill got stupidly high anyway? Or do they just let you spend what you like? I know 3 block international internet for pay monthly users unless you phone up and get credit checked again (!?) or something equally random, to make sure you can afford it

Thanks, I'm not sure for o2. I know in my contract it says they can't set limits, that might be different for different types (SIM only etc)?

2 hours until 1k hits my Student Account, get in! :D

And it's here :D. Haha gotta love Halifax, phoned up to request a replacement PIN, they took me through security and seem to think my last debit was £200 (I know for a fact it wasn't, but when I said the proper amount she didn't say anything, so I was like...oh...online banking says it was £200 on the 3rd apparently, and she accepted that!), then she asked if I recieve any regular credits and from where.... I thought she was going to say how much (it varies!) so I was just like ummm, yea....from Natwest!!

It only took 2 weeks to get the provisional? When I applied, it took more like 2 months.

Make sure he never ever goes out on the scooter in winter weather or heavy rain, and to slow right down before turning if the road is wet. Road surfaces are incredibly slippy when wet and scooters tyres are much smaller so they can't grip the surface as well as cars.

He applied online, paid online with his debit card and then all he had to do was print out the form, sign it and send it with a photo. They aim to return licences within 10 working days, which they did.

As for weather etc. I am a biker and have been for 30 years. My son (poor him!!) has a huge list of do's and don'ts that I have given him along with a long list of 'you are not allowed to's and restrictions.... :D

I'd send them the same question you asked in a new message - and keep doing so until you get the answer you're looking for.

LOL good good. Perhaps I could ask for your advice regarding the motorbike test?

I'm wanting to book it asap and I'm unsure as to which test to book. There is a selection between moped, standard bike and big bike. What is the difference between standard and big bike tests?

    :rotfl:

I haven't sent them the same question as such, but I am in the middle of sending basically the same thing, and asking them what my terms for minimum & maximum credit limit are, and if they are different then why....in about 3 weeks we'll see what they reply to that :rotfl:

To make it even easier for fans to pay for their season tickets, the club have signed a deal with Zebra Finance, who work with a number of Premier League clubs on similar ventures, meaning supporters will be able to spread the cost of their ticket over six months.

The deal is based on guaranteed acceptance to ensure it is as accessible as possible may go for it on
