haha, no, when I moved to Spain, I took the phone with me, and used it, was silly, but at that time I thought I would be in Spain for years :(

I didn't get an email from Barclaycard, despite including my addy in the online application -

I found out the limit early by doing something VERY risky - I called to ask the limit and they said they can't tell me until the card arrives and it's activated and I said it's already arrived I just don't have it to hand - so they activated it whilst it was still in the post and told me £1,150 -

Stupid impatient thing to do on my part, could've been swiped by the postie and I wouldn't have a leg to stand on but thankfully it didn't
Tbh y cudnt you just wait??

Can I ask again, cos I didnt really get much of an idea last time...

my mate is looking for an account, he has a settle CCJ for about 1k to HSBC which is about 4 years old (since it was setted) - he applied for Co-op basic account and they declined him - anyone got any ideas of an account he can go for? all he wants is a debit card!

Edit: Co op declined him a few years ago!

Can't say for sure, but one of my mother's old friends was given a Natwest account last June, with one satisfied CCJ 4 1/2 years old, one outstanding default 5 years old, and one settled default 5 1/2 years old. (She was sent a Solo card and went into branch all dowey eyed and said "I think you've sent the wrong card out"... they issued a service card there and then :rotfl: )

She did however have an up to date mortgage account three years old and up to date capital one account three years old, along with a T-Mobile contract about two years old.

If he's not rebuilt some recent positive credit history then chances are slim - Co_operative approved me for the cashminder even as an undischarged bankrupt - did he apply for the cashminder or the lowest current account? Cashminder applications can only be done over the phone ;)

Good move - they don't credit check - but be careful, they have been known to close cash accounts when they get their first monthly CAIS update. They did this to my ex.
