Would that work for me opening a basic account then? I wouldn't use it as my "main" account but I'd have loads of transactions.... How do you get a full account after 6 months, just apply online or phone? I don't fancy being grilled on the phone/in branch!
You'd need to have a healthy turnover and running balance, which will dictate the risk score that Lloyds give you. If your risk score isn't bad and you don't have a "99 - Credit Policy Decline" marker (I don't and my EX file is trashed) then you can go in branch.
I went in branch to open my second current account and the lady just kept clocking "Override" or "Approve" (There were a few, her computer really didn't want to say yes I think) and gave me my a/c number for the second account.
However earlier that day I went online, logged into my lloyds account, and from the online banking it said I couldn't get another current account - so "being grilled" in branch is the way to goCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

I received the dreaded ‘sorry, but no’ letter from Barclaycard (for the Breathe second card) – as you predicted! (I put a message on my thread but you're here more often!)
I was looking forward to giving Vanquis and/or Capital One the boot as well, will just need to wait a while longer.
I’lve sent a message asking them for a proper reason and if they’ll reconsider, doubt it though.
BTW – this thread has been really busy lately; difficult to keep up on my Blackberry at work!
Cheers,

Sorry to hear that mate.
Barclaycard are a funny bunch, maybe the way forward is to just manage your account well for the next 6 months and try again.
If you feel like obtaining another credit card why not try Flybe cc?0 -

I sent the payment to the account number they gave on my application....
Called today and they said EVERY customer has to send forms of ID, I said well I know someone who didnt have to, she just repeated the fact that every customer has to. I said I wanted to cancel the application, and she said that they hadnt even received the payment, I told her the ccount number I sent it to and she said it was the bond account - sound like a bunch of amateurs to me!
Mate trust me, I did not have to send anything in! That is evident, just read back to when I applied - a week later I got the card through the post then the other bits started coming - never sent anything in.
Why did you waste a search? Mate, they declined loads of us and I said not to bother - did you listen? lol :rotfl::rotfl:2010 - year of the troll

No mate, I believe you, of course I do, you have no reason to lie :rotfl:I am just saying that she seems to be giving out dodgy incorrect info.
I aint applied now, I have cancelled my application, I had already applied by the time you said not to0 -

To be fair whenever I ring I seem to get the same woman, I did wonder if it is a local branch we go through to (then found out it IS!) - thus the same staff will answer the phones, it is not some corporate call centre but the London (Chase Street) branch - they have about 8 staff apparently. :rotfl:2010 - year of the troll

haha, she didnt seem like she knew much about what I was saying, I basically told her that I was not gonna pay for someone to varify my passport was an original (as some people my charge) and there was no way I was going into Barclays to ask them to sign to say it was genuine, to open an account with one of their rivals! she just said ok I will mark it to say you wish to cancel your application....:o
she also said I had to contact Barclays to tell them to recall the online payment as this was not in the account yet (even though it should be as Barclays use faster payments) - its all turning into a bit og a pain in the a$s!0 -

It's Chase Side just up the road from me. Interestingly the large Greek community we have here don't tend to use the Bank of Cyprus much themselves. The reason you tend to get the same woman answering is because a few years back the Bank of Cyprus shut down several of thier local branches (which are all tiny) and relocated to the disused DIY shop on Chase side in Southgate taking thier staff with them.0 -
Hi,
Yep, I'm going to hold off for a few months and re-apply. I'm hoping that I'll get an informed response to my email as well.
I applied for a Sygma card and was declined quite recently
I've had the card 3-4 years and limit is £1020; recently increased to this value though (from £510).

Ah right sorry!!!
If you are given a blue Lloyds debit card, it will be Full Auth.
My Lloyds cards are Green and start 4921 - they aren't full auth, they are offline
I got my Loyds Debit card today, its green and starts 4921, so looks like it is an offline card- I have to say I am impressed so far, only applied for the account on Monday, and card arrives on Wednesday, brilliant service.
I also got a question for you NID if you will: I got my Sygma (accessory card) rejection letter today, they said:
They are unable to offer me an account at present bla bla, signed by customer service manager etc etc....
then it says the following:
We can confirm that, whilst considering your application, we looked at information from the following credit reference agency - then gives Equifax address etc then suggests I get a copy of my credit file (the usual). It then says they also consider information from the following:
National Hunter - address
CIFAS - address
then it says if the Experian report does not provide me with the info I need then to SAR N Hunter and CIFAS
Is this just a standard rejection letter, or are they trying to tell me I may have data held with N Hunter and CIFAS?
Also, if I did, then would I not have problems opening accounts (such as Lloyds which was only opened Monday)?
Cheers mate :beer:0
