is there any way to verify whether debit cards are full auth or not
i.e a database?0 -
My card is an Offline card, it still debits my account in real time though unless the odd time I go to the cinema it will come off about 2 weeks later.
Yeah mine does a lot of the time, but maybe 10% of the transactions (usually those I make in a JD Whetherspoon) take upto a week to debit my available balance +2 days for the leger balance to update... saturday morning I think "wow that's all I spent?"... Wednesday "No"

fairmorn308 - lloyds use your account conduct as the primary thing when considering what to offer you - they mostly make up their mind whether or not to give you something as an existing customer without a credit search. If you don't use the Lloyds account as your main account for six months I would expect it very unlikely they will want to upgrade you...
mawey - I was approved for a barclaycard with four figure limit in november without being on the ER, too. But you sould be. It is in fact the law to be on the ER and you will find it easier but most importantly, you will probably get lower interest rates with the reduced risk of being on the ER.
I would move back as my main account but i cant due to me travelling around the world and needing the card to beable for withdrawls if needed. thats the whole reason for moving as they wouldnt give me it when i asked them.0 -

Didn't relise that it was against the law not to be on it, good job I'll be on it this year. Just sent off my electoral details for this years vote.~ LBM - July 2012 ~

haha catch 22 I see your point.
Can't really say what to advise then, but you can go in and ask them:
1. What is your risk score?
2. What do they recommend you do to improve it?
IME they are good with those questionsCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

You're already a customer so no point fighting for your custom - lol.
Secret is to apply for Tesco and ask for a BT of your Sainsbury balance - see what they say then! lol.....
What about different cards from same bank though, as it's same lender (Sygma or whatever they're called) but different products (JJB & JDW card), so would they be looking to attract different people due to different natures of their business (JDW is like Crap1 in helping people with poor rating/history, JJB is just sport, so although JDW would want to accept more risky people it's Sygma's money...). I believe the APRs are the same, so not sure about the criteriaif you don't go 1p overdrawn for six months with lloyds tsb and credit the account well, leave a running balance, etc, they should open a full a/c without a credit search.0 -
NID - I applied last night (before you advised not to) for a BoC account, they also advised me that I would need to send ID varified by my bank....bla bla!
I sent the payment to the account number they gave on my application....
Called today and they said EVERY customer has to send forms of ID, I said well I know someone who didnt have to, she just repeated the fact that every customer has to. I said I wanted to cancel the application, and she said that they hadnt even received the payment, I told her the ccount number I sent it to and she said it was the bond account - sound like a bunch of amateurs to me!0 -
Cashflow,
I received the dreaded ‘sorry, but no’ letter from Barclaycard (for the Breathe second card) – as you predicted! (I put a message on my thread but you're here more often!)
I was looking forward to giving Vanquis and/or Capital One the boot as well, will just need to wait a while longer.
I’lve sent a message asking them for a proper reason and if they’ll reconsider, doubt it though.
BTW – this thread has been really busy lately; difficult to keep up on my Blackberry at work!
Cheers,
