See I work in lettings, and whenever any future tenant uses their card to pay the deposit etc, I always have a look to see where its from as it gives me a good idea to what their credit report will come back like :)

Got my Capital One plus card today.

    £100 limit and 24% apr!

They can bloody shove their card where the sun don't shine.

I got more on my Cap One classic card. Bloody tight assed ^&$$£$£$^^*£%£$&!!!

IMHO Cap 1 even though they say but don't think score these new progress and the plus cards very differently from the classic one, apart may be the top platinum card (premium plus) that they offer where you need to have a spotless credit history !! Also I was checking out the progress card of theirs where you start at the same apr as the classic one, and it's only when you have a perfect payment history over time with them that they reduce the apr over the period !! so i don't c why they should score them any differently anyway , but again that is just my opinion.

I applied for the ASDA credit card and declined instantly. Checked my credit report online and saw that ^. What is this £2,250 all about?

This is the credit limit Asda would've gave had you been accepted.

Bought some perfume in Boots and used my debit card. The receipt says they've debited my account but checking online banking, it appears they haven't.

I guess this means I have to keep the £60 in my account for the next 6 years until they decide to take it?

To elaborate on this - you were not only accepted with a limit of £2250 but the data received from the CRA is what declined you, i.e. when you apply they admit a limit dependant upon their internal assessment of you (internal score), this generated the £2250 limit - but when they done the external check, they declined you.

I'd say you don't have enough mainstream accounts or they think you have too much credit 'available'.... could just be the volume of app's you've made matey :D

But leave it for a few months, don't apply for owt and they will 95% accept you.... ;)

No, they will take it in 1-3 working days. Retailers do this all the time if you don't have a full auth card. They have shop floor limits.

The only thing they will check is if it's on a "hot list" of stolen or "recalled" cards.

I was thinking too many searches. I have 7 on my Experian file, 5 within 3 months.

A limit of £2250 would have been nice! Darnit.

Halifax do not directly upgrade from their basic account I'm afraid. NatWest do from their Step account as do Barclays from their Cash Card account

No Natwest don't do direct upgrades, neither do Barclays.

They only banks which i know do direct "upgrades" are Abbey, and HSBC.
