Annoyed with Halifax!
At least I can phone them up in the morning now it's been 48 hours. Which number should I call? I was given the online banking helpdesk the other day but that was when it wouldn't match up, now it matches up it's down to the underwriters so guess it's account query.
How do you be an underwriter anyway, stuff uni I want to do that!0 -

Just sent them a message asking what kind of increase is likely on my 4th statement as I have paid all statements on time (obviously gonna be £100) and would it be possible to have a higher limit if I give them some kind of deposit/security, even several times over the increase amount. They'll probably reply telling me to sod off, but it's worth a shot, and it’s only student finance money so won’t need the money yet (if I get the money in the first place with those lot!)

Be careful, someone else done this and never got an increase as it showed desperation. You need to sit back and chill mate, you're very hyperactive lol :rotfl::rotfl:
Let things happen naturally, be patient.Eagerness can be confused with desperation, bear that advice in mind.
Oh, to be an underwriter you usually move straight into it, they use scripts and don't really have any 'super power' - they have guys like me doing audit trails on their caseloads each night so not worth fiddling things. Also the secret scoring is not known by underwriters and changes frequently anyway to stop insider knowledge.
A bank underwriter will earn no more than £30k whereas a 'proper' one say in insurance, will command a salary upto £60k or £100k + if you expand into actuarial which requires finance / accountancy degree. :eek:2010 - year of the troll

Move straight into it? I've clearly been looking on the wrong sites! I looked at reed and they all seem super ones with 80k! (although a lot of them aren't banking ones). Whats the level below one in a bank called? Having one in a bank working to scripts would be ace. I thought you had to look at the figures and profit/loss etc and if they lost too much (or more like didn't make enough!) and it was against your name then you'd be in trouble. If it's just scripted then you don't need any knowledge as your thinking doesn't come into it, so surely anyone can do it?
Annoyingly I didn't take A-Level maths to be abler to do a finance degree, but used to be really good at it, that's why I'm good at betting (I know part of it is "luck", but I look for the good odds on whats likely to happen, unlike a lot of my friends who go straight for Man Utd at 1/9!) and good with stats/figures.
I'm really not liking my student status (well I am, just not my course!), and thinking seriously about it I can see it coming to an end in June/July as theres nothing for me to transfer to, so I do need to actually look for a job before I quit
Oh as for betting, I've just gone and put money in my Ladbrokes account off the Halifax Easycash card so that when it's manually looked at and appealed it will look like I'm using it properly. OK I haven't much in the past, but everyone starts at some point!0
