I also thought about my local CAB, but i've had bad experiences with them, one of which they accused me of lying about my flatmate and I not having a sexual relationship, all because we are male and female.

Know what you mean about CAB, I also had a bad experience with them. I think it has a lot to do with the CAB individual as some have real problems with being impartial. What they do need is good people that can see both sides of the story and then offer the appropriate advice rather than just take everything their client says at face value. Might be for you.

Volunteering is a great way of meeting people Slavvy ~ when I just left school I worked as a volunteer until I went off to college. There was quite a group of us and I did all kinds of work ~ bingo in an old peoples home, a disco at the psychiatric hospital, pushing elderly gentlemen in wheel chairs on a day out at the seaside!
It does help when you go for interviews too and being busy and being out boosts your spirit and confidence :)

I'm a bit worried about applying for local CAB, as just about all I have met are not very friendly and extremely patronising. It seems to be all pensioners in my area, and with their attitudes, I may not be able to work alongside them.

I've done volunteering before, with mixed results. in 1999 for one year I worked at a housing association for 16-25 year olds, but they pushed me into admin.

Also did a little at an adult school for mentally disabled people, but found it too much.

Then I did a bit of work for a youth service drop in, but it never took off.

I just hate things starting up, meeting new people etc, as i'm not very good at it.

Just had to share my morning with you all ~

I found a frog in my kitchen this morning, yes a frog! It frightened the hell out of me at 7am I can tell you! and then I got on the bus to come to work and realised I should have shaved my legs this morning :o

Hope the day gets better from now on, although it is the last day of the week for me :D and it did rain in the night, although it feels very humid and sticky now..........
