Thats brilliant news cantcope, well done! icon14.gifMoving to the quieter flat AND getting thre rent reduced - yaay!!!

Sleep is so important for health and peace of mind. Good that youll be sleeping without so much noise icon10.gifI'll come and help you paint;) I'll be there in spirit definitely. Hope it all goes well.

    Wannabe - champagne and strawberries
    icon14.gifFeels very luxurious!

Twink (wave) hello! Was wondering where you were. Hope youre ok.

Off to fight next work battle. I'm soooo backed in a corner, and I have no idea what to do. All roads lead to relapse. So i'm wonderfully in denial today - which is not good as i only have 48hrs (from ystrday) to sort it.

Sun is shining here - fab! Got a bit of an ick kitty, she's sleeping a lot tho so good healing - with all the mum strokes thrown in.

    Havea good day everyone xx

  • Hi everyone,

i am new to this forum and have spent over an hour reading your messages and feel much better. i am 27 and like a few out there i am a primary school teacher. i left home to go to uni and lost touch with all my old school friends and now i have come back home to the manchester area but i have no real friends as all my uni friends i made are all over the country. i have work friends and get on well with them, but never see them outside work as everyone seems busy with there own lives. i love my boyfriend and enjoy his company, but really miss having close friends i can chat to and go out with. i don't have any real hobbies and hate the gym, the only hobby if you can call it that is watching live bands, so not really sure where i can make new friends.
It is just nice to know there are others out there that feel like me!

Welcome Tabbycat. You will always have friends on here. I felt quite alone when i moved as i didnt know anyone in the area. I have now made friends with my neighbours and its nice to be able to just knock and see if they fancy doing something, just going to the park, or down to the pub etc.

It's scary stuff but definitely worth it.

Update on new flat: I get the keys on the 4th August :D

Have a geat evening everyone, i'm off to sink a bottle of wine with a neighbour by the river seeing as its still so mild outside.

So pleased for you CC. I love the sound of drinkies by the river how gorgeous and I am so pleased about the flat - well done you

DO you know it is so wierd how there are so many people tied in education on this site - do you think it is our job or just a sign of the times???
Oh heck this sounds too sobering for this time in the morning.

Tabby cat - hi you great to have you here, love to have a gossip with you and P I can't believe you are mailing all the way from the US, we are honoured and dying to find out all about the hols - take care and speak to you soon

Have a great day everyone - nearly the summer hols - yipppeeeeeee ( I am jumping for joy but have no idea how to add a little piccie so you have to use imagination)
  • Hi all

Wow lots to catch up on as I wasn't here last night. Race wen well, walked at a good speed and did my 5k in 1 hour 9 mins. Raised about 150 quid for cancer research. Very tired afterwards and ached all over this morning but fine now.

Big welcome to TabbyCat! Fancy another teacher! I think you may be right Wannabe that this forum is some sort of magnet. Maybe we are all just too damned busy to make or keep freinds. I certainly find it harder to keep in touch now I'm teaching.

CC - hope the new flat turns out to be great, you need to get away from that noise and get some sleep.

Thanks to all who liked the picture, been thinking of Dad a lot lately not in a sad way but I do miss him. Mind you he would be telling me that hubby was never good enough for me. Funny how he disliked him so much and thought he was such a loser yet still paid for our wedding! H e was wrong, despite all the problems we have now when dh was the man I married he was so kind and caring and a rock when I lost Dad. Ooops gone all maudlin again. Its hubbies birthday today and I'm feeling his absence rather keenly.

Got a really nice frock for evening wear on cruise today. Cost was painful but I hate being underdressed for anything. After a couple of much cheaper ones on ebay to complete my ensemble. I will post a picture of me wearing this one though after the holiday. Scary but should give you all a laugh!

Last edited because I forgot I can't spell! DOH - been banging on at year 10 all day to use the flippin spell checker.
The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j
  • Well done KP! Your dad would have been proud. I really should dp the Race for Life next year.
The end of term is in sight. I never know what to feel at this time. I am so desperate to get the reports and parents evenongs out of the way but then suddenly I feel sad that i will lose my children and that the routine will change dramatically -I will become the non teaching person. I couldn't survive without the holiday but I hate the change in personlity. I always hate going back to school too! I feel sad to lose my class. They are a good bunch and we are becoming maths mad. I am pushing them very hard and they are rising to the challenge.
    Oh is still behaving.
Meet ups would be good in the hols. I would be up to drive from Gloucestershire.
    Take care all.
