Messy - You go girl! 21 who cares? I hope you can hold off the mortgage company.
CG - sorry to hear about Lit co-ord, need any advice on ICT just ask, I teach it at secondary and also do some primary liason.
Zombie - hope you get a good deal on the exhaust.
Boot sale was a washout, it was too windy and looked like rain all morning, I didn't stay long, Mum didn't bother and the boys only took £500 (with the stuff they sell that is peanuts, some items are that much alone!).
I have year 6 induction day tomorow, teaching a couple of taster lessons for them so trying to make them fun. Next year we get our new house system so I am getting a new form too, vertical forms and mine will contain a few kids from each year 7 to 12 (not everyone gets 12's) so thats all exciting. Our deputy who is my line manager told me today the head wants to see me about responsibilities for next year, dunno what yet as she was out most of the day grrr... Could be something good, could be something temporary. Already lost out in the TLR reshuffle and have some "protected salary" now, so even if there is extra money I may not get a lot more. fingers crossed I like it though, not really up for bad news lately with all thats gone on at home I tend to well up.
Hubby ahas been up and down, grumpy and miserable one day and his old cheerful self the next. I think he needs to see someone, who knows if he did there might be hope for us.
Oh tomorrow at 9am the sale starts in my fave hanbag shop, seen one in the window that I wanted reduced to 28 quid, seen another one inside that I couldn't read the price on (they close for the day before the sale and mark down EVERYTHING). I have saved up a little for this sale (not put in my lunch claims since Christmas!). I am free period 1 so will take registration then skip off to the high street. Secondary school can be cool at this time of year...
No fendi baguettes though...The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j0 -
Hey links with secondary ICT would be excellent. I was ICT coord for 2 years before I decided to give up on my career and focus on having a family. Gave up my masters the lot. Has taken me ages to get back to where I was bt want to prove I can do it. However nice to have it again vcan get cack mates with Sherston Software. To be able to understand KS3 ICT stuff would be really interesting.
Glad you are hopeful about responsibilities, I get nothing for DT which I do now. I'll get nothing for ICT I think. Hope ya Y6s are OK funny to think of them as young!!
Really am gong to bed, had to watch the only fools on horses (what kind horses Nick wouldn't be so nice!)
Oh is being lovely. Quite spooky. Haven't said anything about interview.
Tomorrow is another day.
Take care all.

Yes forgot to mention that....DS holiday went really well (from his point of view anyway) he's came back late friday night. Popped in with his mate and they both appeared to be full of beans. Said mate went to pirates movie with us. Really very pleased for him."A banker is a fellow who lends you his umbrella when the sun is shining, but wants it back the minute it begins to rain." Now I know I wish I was secondary .... on second thoughts no I will stick to Primary. So sorry to hear that you have to do ICT when you want to do Literacy. I hate it when that happens I really want Science and had to put up with PE until eventually I got Science - hang on in there you'll get it.
KP hope the induction went ok, I met my new sept class yesterday and they were lovely - false sense of security eh, but never mind. As for Hubby maybe we should get ours together because I am having the same probs and I really want him to see someone but he won't - male pride!
Hope you sort it out, any advice gratefully received.
Hope you have a good day today all - at least the sun is shining - yippeee

First to answer above, handbag was a huge Fiorelli one which is in slate (sort of pale blue) and big and floppy to use as a very smart Mummy bag when we are on holiday. Didn't buy any others in the end, none of the Radley ones I wanted and the amazing italian lilac bag I saw in there last week wasn't in the sale (165 quid!) mind you it might end up in the Jan sale!. The one I bought is so big I've put my running kit in it (doing the race for life tomorrow - and I'm a size 26 so not really a runner) I will post some pictures after the race so you can all laugh :rotfl: I'm even going to be seen out in shorts and a vest (usually garden only) by colleagues and pupils
CarefulGirl - any ICT advice you need just holler I'm your man so to speak.
My day was going a bit wrong when I got a text from Mum to say we had been upgraded on the cruise! We are now in the best restuarant and in the 4th best room level - pretty amazing considering we have paid peanuts! Mum wondered if it was because our demographic was right, I'm a teacher she's retired and I also have a double barrelled name. Better keep my mouth shut as I'm pure Essex in speech :rotfl:
Later I saw my line manager (head and I couldn't get a matching schedule) I was offered Key Stage 3 co-ordinator to go alongside my Vocational Key Stage 4 co-ordinator and specialist school role (good ICT people are hard to find so we get the goodies!) Means another step on the TLR ladder and will also look great on my CV - its temporary till xmas but that could mean "trial period". Our HOD is leaving and he was KS3 co-ord, head of bus studies is temp head of Faculty etc.
Am all in all a happy bunny, should get good rise in September now, and have threshold to go through next year and its a job I love! :j
Am sitting here quoffing a glass of pink champagne (been in the fridge since valentines) and not even sad that I'm on my own with DS. Oh hubby was good today too, did some hoovering whilst he looked after DS and wasn't grumpy with me when I got home.
Sending my good day vibes to you all and enjoying my champers
Finally because he is the person I would most have wanted to tell about the promotion. Because he is the reason I'm going running when I usually don't even run for a bus. Because he is not here.. I just want to share with you me and my Dad - its the picture from my race for life page and I'm racing for him tomorrow.:AThe best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j0 -
Hi everybody
Hope you don't mind if I jump in on your thread!
I have recently moved back to England from Australasia as I am married to an English man. We have a 9 month old baby girl and I am now a stay at home Mum for the time being.
We have bought a house which needs to be done up as it is very run-down so that is why I have joined this site as money is rather limited, particularly with me not working right now.
We are living in a new area so I don't know anybody here, although I have met a few nice people so I am sure that in time it will get easier.
Feeling very home-sick and missing my family and friends terribly, and as my husband works so much it is usually just my daughter and I here entertaining each other!
My interests are my baby, the outdoors- love going out walking and the beach (but that is a bit far away as we are in Northamptonshire!) live music, photography, cooking and entertaining, reading and movies when I get the time, and dining out and going out for coffee.
Sorry to rave on about me, I would love to get to know you all on here :-)
Will read through this thread more closely when I get a break from baby whilst she sleeps.
Best wishes,
Magnolia xx0 -
hi all haven't been on for a few days. Just been so tired. Have decided to move. I can't stand the noise here anymore. I spoke to my neighbour and she never hears anything in her flat and it just so happens that she is moving round the corner at the end of the month so her flat is up for rent
I am going to have a proper look at it tonight. Make sure the kitchen and bathroom are ok etc. Its cheaper rent as its not been decorated for a while and would mean it would be such an easy move. No packing, no van required etc.
Wish me luck, i gave my formal notice on this place today so could be out in 4 weeks. Hope next door is ok otherwise i have a sprint on my hands to find somewhere else. Can't believe I am moving after only 6 months here but i neeeeeeeeeed sleep.
Hope everyone is ok. xxxLast bet : 26th Oct 2006:j Debt free 25th Feb 2008:j Living "my" dream:T0 -
Kathrynpenguin, that is a beautiful picture of you and your Dad.
