Back from date.
Lets just say he was not a lot like his pic. Sounded interesting by email. Slightly boring.
By 8.30 started to wonder how I could get away early.
Nice man but definately not for me.
And the next is another man with the same name. He looks older than his given age but will go for a drink and see what happens.0 -
Hi all.
Oh Messy! So sorry. You cannot be with a boring chap though. Good on you for getting out there. At least you can enjoy being chatted up!
CC the beginning of the new chapter. It must be so strange. Good luck and hope you find something interesting in the fridge.
Hi RH and welcome.
No change for me. Still with OH. He still has not paid what he owes me and i have had huge money problems over the last month. He just ignores this. He can be sweet at times but has no idea how to show me real love or even slight consideration. A few more ends to tie up and then I will ask him calmly to end the marriage. I am worth more than this.
Take care all,
CG "You can if you think you can."

Hi to everyone who has been posting  .... hope i'm not hijacking?!
Messy your date didn't sound so good- never a good sign when you want to leave by 8.30
CC- I totally agree with you, there seems to be a total stigma about talking to other people unless it is a bar/pub/club!! I said hello this morning to a commuter who I see most days and just got a funny look back! lol

Hi everyone
Haven't read through the whole thread but get the gist. I also find myself home alone way too often but don't have the social circle to get all that much. I'm not good at meeting one to one but that's what is expected of online friendship/dating sites so just need to work up some courage!OD Girls On TourBarcelona 2008 - Dublin 20090 -
wow cc that is really good going... what an incentive that must be!
Maybe if all the MSE's start smiling at people then it will be enough to catch on lol!!
Thanks Messy- a chat and a ramble (it normally turns into more of a ramble with me) are right up my street

Hey Messy  I had dates like that when I was meeting guys from a dating site. Its difficult to find something where you can escape after 15 mins if its not going well..........I hope the next date is better
I got asked out for a drink by someone in the street last weekI was so embarrassed, both for him and me, I told him I was attached and then hurried back to work ~ work colleagues haven't let me forget it since.....But it does make me think that seizing the moment is always a good thing so long as you're prepared for a negative reaction. If I had been single I definitely would have taken his number

The local forum I found was through someone on our local freecycle. When she heard that I wanted stuff for my chickens she suggested I have a look at the forum and it went from there.
I did join a local art group, as I wanted to get back into painting again, but found that it was not right for me.
