Hey guys, long time no hear. Was chatting to Rose07 the other night and thought I should better catch up.
Sorry I haven't been on. Been busy for various reasons.
Spent alot of time getting all my home made christmas stuff finished, which saved me an absolute fortune.
Have joined a new local forum, that has allowed me to make some contacts where I live and it's been great. Have been to at least four Meet-ups in the past 4 months and have visited at least three of the members for a chat and a coffee. So I've made friends Yee hah.
My chickens started laying about 12 days ago. I was so happy and proud. Sent pictures of the eggs to all my friends and family.
Now I'm busy working and gearing up to making a plastic bottle green house and growing my own veg this year.
Here are some pictures of what's been keeping me busy.
Home made tablet for christmas
Home painted T-shirts for christmas
Crocheted Scarf and bag set for christmas
My first Eggs
Silkie
Barnevelder
Anyway guys it was nice to catch up with all the gossip.
CC - keep up the good work.
MC - Rose07 said she had a great time and I loved the zoo photos.
Messy - Work can be a real pain, but hang in there.
Twink - I hear we're in for nasty weather...YUK
Urbs - hope you have got over all your illness recently. Nothing like the winter to bring out the nasties.

You seem to be doing well with the debts...good on you! What Toyota do you have?
CG:rolleyes:
Thanks careful girl, though I'm not, they've bumped back up a little as I always get a bit overgenerous at Christmas. It's a new Yaris I have, the A&L loan was for that too!OU Student! - ED209, SDK125, DSE212, SK124, DSE141, SD226, DXR222, DD303, DD307 = BSc Psychology0 -
Hello All,
Havn't been on this board before but saw this thread and had to post... its reassuring to find ppl in the same situation as me!
I've stayed in my uni town after finishing (I'm 23) but all the ppl I knew from then have moved away and I'm finding it really difficult to meet new people and spend time with someone other than the OH (lovely lovely guy bless him but not the same as girly chats!!). My family and friends still live in my hometown 150miles away and although I work in a large company- there are very strong existing social groups that I can't seem to join in with.
Its so nice to see there are other ppl who find it just as hard to meet people! I'm quite an outgoing person, normally happy but am quite shy when meeting new people so don't tend to put myself 'out there' (lol!) or make the first step. So... hi to all the people who have posted on this thread...
Couttsy-I lived by myself for 2 years before moving in with the OH, found that at first I 'hibernated' for a bit lol but have found all in all that my confidence has improved and am more able to chat to new people now although still don't seem to be able to move to friendship from chatting! I would still say go for it though, I know some people don't like living alone but I found it really liberating :-)
If anyone wants a chat buddy please let me know or PM me :-)

Good Luck with that CC. Although you can't feel any better, it is still a very positive step!!
zombiecazz - that presents look excellent. I have made a resolution to get some good photos taken when the snow comes (I am in Scotland after all) with the purpose of making my own Xmas cards for later this year. Well that is the plan anyway. Don't know if I will go as far as making presents though
CG - Good luck with the split. Hope that your OH gets sorted and makes it as pain free as possible. And bring on the Scottish jokes - sure I can take them ... nothing like a good bit of banter!
Midlandsfairy - thanks for the advice on living alone.
I am kind of having a mini-test run at the moment. Stayed in the proposed new town last night and also hopefully will do the same tonight and Wednesday. It is just basic accomodation and I am missing Net access at night (but guess I can get that if I get a permanent place). Very much in favour of moving but would like to share a place (for the company and also the financial issues) Had someone in mind who I know was thinking of getting a new place (although think she may have been thinking her own place alone but don't think she can afford it) but !!!!!!ed that up (see below!)
Welcome Littlestar, I can certainly sympathise with your plight I am much the same. Everything I try to do always turns out wrong.
I took this girl I was chatting online on a 'tour' of my town on Sunday but then kind of suggested meeting up to watch a film this week as she seemed nice and friendly, and I was alone in new town. Immediately regretted it as it may be misunderstood and that I would kind of come across all wrong. Then kind of sent a silly text message apologising so likely !!!!!!ed any chance of developing a friendship there. Why oh why does it all go wrong ARGHH all I wanted was to develop a friendship. It is much easier over the Net when there is not the temptation to meet.
I wish now I had just kept quiet and never suggested meeting - hindsight what a lovely thing!!!
Hope everyone else is well

Hi All - and welcome new friends.
Badger has had a funny few weeks - got a new job (temporary til references were checked out etc) and loved it , week in had a bad car smash and had to take time off work. Apparently came quite close to breaking my neck but fine apart from some loss of feeling in my hands (nerve damage apparently) and need regular physio. Car was a write off and got to claim for loss of earnings etc from the guilty party - bloke driving in other direction was talking on his mobile and when he realised the cars in front were stopping at some lights decided to swerve right across front of my car to avoid hitting them !
Got a new car on Saturday - megane convertible which is lovely but yesterday was told there was a problem in the reference checks (they went back and checked every single job I'd had) and not only were they not going to offer me a permanent job but I had to leave immediately ! Everyone was in tears - me , the HR woman, my friends at work. Apparently they can't tell me what the problem was but rules from the US mean that any discrepancy means no job - I have no idea what could be wrong but now I'm jobless and the proud owner of a new car and a £7k car loan !
Apart from the work thing and car accident I'm feeling very happy at the moment - my new gumtree friends have been a blessing. I'm still single but still seeing the boy toy and happy with that on a casual basis. Getting out and about loads and just generally contented.
I'm going to immerse myself in this thread for a few hours to catch up with what's been happening with you all - just wanted to say hello and Happy New Year to you all.
Hugs
