  • Hey I've had a great money saving day.

This morning I took DS to get a haircut - instead of going the the barbers who charge £7 I took him to my expensive hairdressers who only charge £5.50 for a kids cut! They don't usually do kids on a Saturday but I am a good customer so they help me out!

Popped into Waitrose for a few bits for lunch, stocked up on this months specials which are my staples (crisps, cat food, Ocean Spray!) Saved a little there - Saw all the same things later in Tescos for more money!!!

Picked up a new baby monitor for free from a freecycler (we will need this in the new house - although DS is 4, if I go out and gran is asleep in the annexe although she is only going to be 1 room below and to the front of him its a good idea to have the monitor for her to hear).

Went to the dump with some real junk, rusty old BBQ, broken plastic boxes, broken wooden table and a solid bag of cement that has sat in my garden for ages. Had to put the cement in the hard core skip and sitting right on top were about a dozen really large pieces of really beautiful slate! Had them straight in the boot - with the help of one of my neighbors who I had bumped into there!!

DS had his first swimming lesson in the morning and we had promised him a McDonalds as a treat. Went to one which is nicer than others in the are where I know one of my sixth formers works. Course it turned out 3 of my sixth formers were working there and they served me. My happy Meal contained a large fries rather than a kiddie size, my McFlurry had more chocolate flake pieces in there than you can imagine and James got the hugest ice cream cone you will ever see in McDonalds! Glad the kids love me - some teachers would have got a "spitter"!!!

Gonna do more saving tomorrow- being in Billericay today without going into my fave clothes shop was hard hard hard.

Aaah yes I also bought DS a school jumper in Tescos, reduced to £1! Had uhhmd and aahhed over buying hime one because he will be changing schools and the new school have "proper" uniform - make you buy the stuff with the school logo (which I am pleased about!). Was worried though that there may be days when he is chilly in a polo shirt, although he usually doesn't feel the cold.

Sounds like you had a great day KP. I've just got back from Billericay lol. Been visiting cousin. trying to put a smile on my face.

Dont know whats wrong with me, have spent most of this week feeling very sorry for myself.
I feel so bored yet I have no motivation to actually do anything to releive the boredom. I just keep crying. Mum has said to ask doc for some mild antidepressants but i've had them before and although they helped i dont feel as low as i did when i had them previously. Just dont know why i am feeling like this :( I feel like i've given up everything i like recently, gambling, smoking and eating :( what else is there??? that i can be bothered to do.

  • cc maybe the docs might help.
You are working so hard to be df and giving up all you used to enjoy.

Havent got any suggestions but finding something else you enjoy is the key.

    (((((((((hug))))))))))))

  • CC - I have felt the same a lot of this week, see post about ex - and he managed to floor me again last night. All I can say is keep looking at the positive. You have us to talk to, you have a nice place to live.

As for having given up all the things you like, you havn't really "given up" you've stopped. (ok so I sound a little like Allen Carr). They were not all the things you liked - they were all the things you didn't want to be a slave to anymore. All of them were destructive influences on your life, smoking was killing you (and making you stink!!!), eating was making you fat and unhealthy (hark at me - I'm fatter than you!), and gambling was making you broke and unhappy.

Treat yourself to something to pick you up, something cheap. A bath bomb from Lush and a long soak with a good book, a bottle of wine and a good DVD, whatever makes YOU happy.

You are a lovely person and all the better for stopping all those things. You are thinner, richer and less smelly!

Thanks Kp. i needed that. Am going to watch the banger racing finals today. So hopefully that will take my mind off the things i still feel i am missing out on.
Have got docs appt on wednesday anyway to blow in the carbon monoxide tube and get some more patches so will speak to the nurse then. I know all these things were bad for me, but i DID enjoy them.
Maybe i should try drinking more and see what drugs are like lol.

I just dont want to do anything at the moment if i cant smoke or eat cake at the same time lol.

Am trying to visualise something my friend told me. Might help the other "quitters"

Imagine 2 windows, look through the first one and see a beautiful meadow, birds singing, sun shining. Look through the second, just through the smoke you can see an old man smoking, coughing and struggling for breath. Imagine him coughing up a big lump of "yuk". then imagine a toddler on the floor picking it up and playing with it.

Which room do you want to be in?

Sorry that the only thing keeping me off at the moment, and the fact i know it makes me stink

Hi cc you are doing fab girl - you keep going
The visualise thing sounds kind of yuk but good.
Another thing you might want to try is a lime or lemon burner oil, i swear to god it lifts your spirits. I put a bit on a tissue in my car on a sunday night and when i get into the car on monday morn it doesn't feel quite so bad.
Also i don't know bout you but the weather can really drag you down. I got one of those natural light bulbs and I have it in the lounge and it seems to help me.
I know i sound sappy but please be careful if you do an anti depressants especially if you treat yourself to a glass of vino, maybe its just me but I forgot when i was on them and was seriously rough!
Take care, hugs, am thinking of you
    wb xx
  • Hi wannub where do you get one of them bulbs from?

Thanks kp you put that to cc so much better than I could.:A

Its a year today since `it` and not feeling to bad to be honest. :D A bit down but then its his loss. Sad, sad man. Did have to do a bunny boiler bit and send a `happy anniversary` text. :rotfl: No reply but then didnt really want one.

    Have a good week all.
    Love Messy
  • I do think that the change of seasons makes us a bit more sad than usual - so let's just blame that and try the special light bulbs....

Update on foster cat - just been picked up this evening to go to her new home. Probably for the best before she settled in too much. Her new family seem really nice and welcoming.

Nice one on the "Happy Anniversary" text. Whats happened with 4x4? Did you see your friend?

I'm not too worried about asking the doc for help. i had mild anti depressants before and after 2 weeks i just forgot to take them as they had worked so well. I think i'm just down because i am realising how much i screwed up everything i had worked so hard for. Now all i have to look forward to for the next few years is hard slog to pay money back.

What a prat... Work tomorrow. yippeeeeeeeeeee

  • He told her that he thought he had found `the one` omg!!! She told him to pull back and leave me alone. Thanks Di :D Very nice man but love  yuck!! I do like him but not in a serious way. So by seeing him am I going to end up with a klingon:eek:

There is another driving/ camping weekend next weekend though and really want to go. It was such good fun.

Have arranged a drink with gay friend tomorrow and after that working lates all week. So have a slight prob, do I cancel drink and go and see 4x4 (means I can go next weekend) or forget the driving. Dont want to be accused of being a `user` though.

If they tabs help it might be worth having a short course again.

Day off for me tomorrow :j have worked all weekend.
