Just tell them that in the terms and conditions it does not state anything about it having to be a core service, and to stop talking B***oc*s! Also state that when you signed your contract, itemised billing was not an additional service. If they say you can view your bill online, tell them that you no longer have internet access (they are not to know). I have just emailed my disgust to the CEO and informing him in writing via email to cancel my contract, as I was told all this nonsense by 150 also.0 -
Good, i really need out of this contract as it's charging me an arm and a leg! They always seem to want to breach their terms and conditions to keep our custom, which is understandable given that they are a business at the end of the day and they are only interested in making money, but they've clearly outlined our rights in their terms and conditions. Can't get away with this!

Hope to hear the results of your e-mail to the CEO, richard
They're not keeping my custom if they breach their T&C (unlike O2, whose tariff I really like despite the recent new charges on some numbers). My account is currently in credit though, due to a trade-in when taking the contract up - hope this won't be forfeited if they let me cancel.0 -
so have still to see this vague statement
Mine is not the least bit vague.
It's very clear.Once cancelled, you won't get it back, so why not wait and see.
3 reasons.
1) It's in writing that I have to pay it and confirmed on the phone.
2) I don't mine logging on line to check.
3) I'm too tight to want to take then chance :-)0 -
Can you port you exisiting orange number to a PAYG sim card if you give them notice to cancel? Or are you likely to be charged for this?
I have two orange contracts which I will be writting in to cancel and I'd like to keep one of the numbers as it's a nice number! :-)
Cheers,
G0 -
yeah just tell um over the phone and they'll send you out a PAUG sim dont think they charge but theyll just do it when your out of contractYes Your Dukeiness0

Its not good news I am afraidSee below reply.....
I regret to learn that you wish to cancel the above account as we are
charging for itemised billing from 1 July 2006. However, as this variation
is an Additional Service that can be cancelled, option 4.3 of our Term's
and Condition's does not apply (please refer to section 4.3.4).
A business decision was made to introduce the charge for the following
reasons:
* Production costs and environmental concerns have increased.
* The majority of our customers have told us that they only read the
summary page of their bill and do not check the additional itemisation.
* The introduction of this charge will bring us in line with the majority
of other Service Providers.
From 1 July 2006 all Orange customers who currently receive a free
itemised bill each month will be able to:
* Access all of their billing details online via 'My Account' on
orange.co.uk.
* Opt in to receive a fully itemised paper bill for an additional £1.50
per month instead of a paper summary bill.
Customers do not have the right to cancel their Contract as a result of
this change as they can opt out of the service in accordance with
Condition 15.1 of our Term's and Condition's and we are still providing
the information via the web or Customer Service. Should you wish to opt
out of itemised billing or if you still wish to disconnect and pay
Contract charges, I can arrange this for you. Your Contract charges would
be the equivalent of your Monthly Service Plan charge multiplied by the
number of months remaining in your Contract.0 -
I have two phones on Orange (one statement comes).
One on Talk Time 200 and the other on EQ T-Mobile Relax 100
Nothing on my last statement dated 26th May, my next one will not come until about 29th June.
will that have this change in the T&C's on it giving me just 1 days notice???.0 -
No, because it will be one month until your next bill on the 29th July. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

My bill arrived today, it says that I have 10 days to contact them or the £1.50 charge will apply.
Does anyone have a definite answer from Orange about this change applying to the 'EQ Virgin' (old 'OVP Virgin') tariff?
Virgin still offer free itemised billing don't they?0
