• When did you use it - 25/08/2011
• What did you send it - 21g of gold (one small ring, a figaro bracelet and necklace, All 9ct gold)
• How much did it promise you - £254
• How much did it deliver - £264 the gold price was better today than yesterday
• How efficient was the service - EXCELLENT, I sent the items by special delivery and received payment into my bank account the very next afternoon. Less than 24 hours for the entire process.
• If it didn't deliver the full amount, what was its reason - paid more than expected!!

I had a look at various places and thanks to Martin's Money Saving Expert decided to send a few bits of broken earings,necklace etc to Hatton Garden Metals.

What brilliant service and really good price. They provided an online estimate based on my weighing on the kitchen scales (!). I sent the items yesterday (Monday) by Special Delivery £5.45 and this morning (Tuesday) before mid-day I had an email confirming the exact weight and type of gold as well as advising £302.31 had been sent to my bank account by Faster Payment. Money was there in the account, cleared funds. I did get an extra 1% on the value by using a code from voucher codes network (sorry not allowed to put a link).

Anyway thanks to all those people that have previously said how good and fair the service and value is because otherwise I might have got less than half that for some old bits and pieces, I am very happy.

Very happy overall as Tesco Gold were offering £670.00 when I checking on prices and at a friends "gold party" i was offered £630.00 which went up to £670.00 when I mentioned Tesco. He could not believe that I had been offered more than £800 as scrap!!

I'm sending another £2800 worth in the next day or so, so Ive managed to trace this extra 1% code....I would imagine it will be useful for all future gold sellers, and as this is a money saving/money making site, we should try and let members know about it...but as above, the link wont post, so do a google search on ....Voucher codes network "Hatton Garden Metals" ...scroll down your results and its there

I have used them 3 times this year and did a bit of comparison homework first. They are first rate. No quibbles on the gold and on the second occasion gave me more in weight than I thought. They receive it weigh it and pay you the same day by BACS. Couldn't recommend them enough.

I used this company over a week ago on the recommendation of this site. I sent approx 24g of 22 carat gold and 1g of 9 carat gold. They e-mailed to confirm the exact weight and once I confirmed my instructions to proceed, the monies appeared in my account shortly afterwards and on the day following postage. I posted by Royal Mail Special Delivery and paid extra for insurance up to £1,000, so this is a cost thrown away but worth it as I would have received much less at the local pawnbrokers or jewellers. Very happy with the recommendation and service. I would use them again and recommend them.

Following lots of searching decided to jump in last week and posted 2 gold rings off by special delivery on Thursday 9th Sept 2011.

Tracked them using Royal Mail tracker and they were delivered at 8.10am on Monday 12th Sept.

By 11am I had an eMail from them confirming that they had valued them at £298 and within an hour the money was in my account. :beer:

Excellent. Would have no hesitation in using again.

After reading this thread, I raided the loft and dug out some old jewellery:

When did you use it: 12/09/11
What did you send: Old gold and silver jewellery that hadn't been out of the loft since the early 90s
How much did it promise you: £890 which seemed a lot.
How much did it deliver: £870
How efficient was the service: Excellent. Posted Monday, arrived Tuesday, money in the bank by midday.
If it didn't deliver the full amount, what was its reason: The weight was slightly out because I only had the kitchen scales to weigh it on. Also a couple of items weren't gold (which I suspected anyway).

As above I sent my 3rd lot of to HGM, including some stuff I wasnt sure was 14 or 18....it turned out that HGM said it was 14ct, so this brought my original estimate down by around £100.....

When did you use it ......Sent it off fully insured Wed 14th September
What did you send........ Mixture of 18, 14 and 9ct gold, silver, silver GB coins and a Soverign.
How much did it promise you...... £2799(that was my price on calculator)....
How much did it deliver ...£2692 (Bacs transfer same day)
How efficient was the service...very efficient
If it didn't deliver the full amount, what was its reason, some of what I thought was 18ct was only 14ct(my locals could only say it was more than 9ct, so they assumed 18ct)
Anything else other people should know I 100% recommend them, this again is much, much more than the locals were prepared to offer.

Again, extremely happy, and the delivered money included a 1% added bonus for code used from a voucher code site(code i used was 61240)

This latest lot earned me over £4 per gram(9ct) more than the stuff I sent last year..but 40p per gram less than beginning of week...
