Do the post offices still give you a special delivery plastic wallet to post your items, or do you have to package them up yourself?

what a great company! Gold sent yesterday - money received today. I received nearly the same figure as was quoted. (that only changed by the slight weight differences) I received twice as much as quoted by my local jewellers. Can't tell you how thrilled I am. :T

sent of a mixture of broken and unmatching earings and 2 gold chains ( argos specials) total weight as per my scales 25g sent at 4.30 yesterday the had recieved them weighed them at 24.4g paid me about £7 less than what i expected !!!! Recieved the money this afternoon via bacs, Im chuffed as this has been cluttering up my jewelry box for the last 3 years!

Was really skeptical about this, but decided to give it a go after reading SJP's experience on the Sealed Pot Challenge thread. Had a hunt round and found approx 25g of assorted bits of gold. Wasn't sure if it was all 9ct gold, as some was from Italy, but explained this in the note you need to send with the gold.

Sent off by Special Delivery yesterday and processed by HGM by 8.20am today! Turns out I had just over half 9ct and the rest was 18ct (what fabulous honesty)!! Got an email around 11.30am saying that payment had been processed and sure enough, £435.24 was sitting in my account about an hour later!

Can't speak highly enough of this company, they gave me an honest and reliable service!! FANTASTIC :T

Yet another satisfied customer. Sent my gold off on Monday, got an email to confirm that I agreed with the weight (I was out by a couple of grams so they gave me the option to proceed or to receive my gold back) and got the money in my account by Wednesday. Excellent service and a very good price, the best I could find, by far. Highly recommended!

I was a bit broke after xmas and looking at a fairly desperate January after my bills had been paid - I had a few old gold items, broken chains, dented hollow bracelets, odd earrings, etc, including a bracelet and pair of earrings from America that I wasn't sure were good quality gold. After reading the reviews of various gold websites I tried Hatton Garden Metals and was impressed with the service. Using my kitchen scales (probably not terribly accurate) I had 50g of gold which using the HGM calculator meant I would get just over £500. I posted the gold special delivery which cost £5.30. The next morning I used the Royal Tracker and saw that my parcel had been delivered and signed for at 8.37am. At 10.55am I received an email saying that the gold had been valued at £475.65 because a couple of item's weren't gold (as I'd suspected) and the money would be paid into my account by BACs transfer. I checked my bank account at noon and the money was already there. I couldn't fault the service and have already recommended the company to a friend who is in a similar financial state as me.

This is the 4th time over the past 2 years I have used this company and have found them to be speedy (money in bank account next day), reliable and a pleasure to do business with.

I cannot praise this site enough. After being offered a sum by a very reputable local company (who warned me to beware of on-line charlatans, I contacted HGM. I posted my gold at 4.30pm by Special Delivery - cost £6 or so. HGM had given me a price by 10am the next morning and a cheque for 40% more than the jeweller offered arrived the day after - the whole process took around 40 hours.

:j I went onto the Hatton Garden Metals website after reading some of the blogs on here, figuring that it was pretty safe. It is!
You have to register onto their site which is a simple email address and the send you a password, follow the link from that email and then there is a calculator so that you have a good idea of the value of what it is you are sending. (that is of course if you know the weight). Once you've done the calculator another email arrives for you to print out and send in the package.

Yesterday (26/01/01) I posted a package to them, via Royal mail Special Delivery, I paid extra insurance and it still only cost £6.50 and at 9:23 this morning (27/01/11) there was an email in my inbox.

They had verified what I had sent, with minor variations, (one of the items I sent I wasn't sure whether it was 9ct or 18 ct gold). The email said that they would do no more until they had authorisation from me as to my wishes.

Every item was lisited in grams and I used the online calculator again to work out accuately how much it would come to. AsI was happy with the amount and authorised them to proceed.

Within an hour the money had been transferred into my bank account. As quick as that.

The correspondence that I had from them was clear and concise. They were quick to respond. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again or to recommend them to my friends.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their excellent service.

:T oh and one other thing, despite giving them my mobile number I have not been in-undated with phone calls, in fact all of the correspondence has been via email.
